Illinois PA 100-0574 is the first criminal law in the U.S. that identifies postpartum depression & postpartum psychosis as “mitigating factors” in sentencing! I  helped to usher in the first postpartum criminal law in the nation, IL PA 100-0574. Attorney Barry Lewis and I received the 2018 Maternal Mental Health Award for our work in Policy and Advocacy.
