The Potawatomi Poker Room was first opened back in April 2004 under the original name of Potawatomi Bingo. It was a small room with only 10 tables located on the third floor of the building, towards the back of the bingo hall. The poker room quickly became popular and was consistently packed. In June 2008, Potawatomi Bingo completed a $240-million expansion that also included a new poker room. This poker room had 20 tables and was located next to the off-track betting room. It was here that poker in Milwaukee really began to flourish. In 2012, the Potawatomi Poker Room introduced low-stakes no ..read more

The last time Ian Simpson went to Barcelona, he cashed. In fact, he’d done so four of the previous five visits. But the most recent was almost exactly a year ago, about one year into his current term as an 888poker ambassador. “I came fifth in the high roller last year, in the 888poker event. I just need to go four places further, easy!” he laughs. Ian Simpson laughs plenty. Ian Simpson is heading back to Barcelona with 888poker… will you be there, too? Give Wild Card Poker Games a Chance

Like many fellow recreational poker players out there, my main poker activities take place in home games with friends. I don’t live near a brick and mortar casino, and frankly, even if I did, I prefer not to pay rake all the time and would rather just enjoy a casual, rake-free gathering among my poker friends. Anyhow, among the different games I take part in is my Dad’s weekly game, which has a reputation for being “the home of crazy wild card poker games”. I’ve been playing poker with my Dad and our mutual buddies for upwards of 20 years now, and precisely because there’s such a great mix of ..read more

In my prior article, Cbet Bluff On Single Big Card, Dry Flops, I discussed how to successfully bluff those types of flops. However, you’re not the only one who knows this. Many of your opponents bluff these flops as well, because they recognize easy bluffing opportunities. Critical Thinking: How can you exploit players who bluff on these flops like you do? Be your own coach for a moment and answer that question before you read on for my answers. Re-Bluffing the Flop Cbet Bluffers Example Hand: In the BB versus a BTN open-raiser You’re in the BB. Poker pro Lexy Gavin-Mather has written her first poker strategy book, entitled Mastering Small Stakes No-Limit Tournaments. The book was published by the venerable D&B Poker publishing house in March and has been well received. In this article I’ll include the brief Q&A with Lexy as well as my review of her new poker book. Lexy played her first live poker tournament more than a decade ago, in 2013, at the ..read more
