Wow, 6 months huh? Geez Kel, do ya think maybe this dusty ol place is looking a little deserted? Huh, funny how things shift, life moves on, changes occur………. At one point in my life online resources were of the utmost importance, it was really the only place I could consistently be me. So it’s not as if I don’t appreciate this blog, or the internet, it’s just that once one begins living life in the real world, that was once only online, it can feel so fulfilling, and yet at the same time the loss of those online connections can be felt by many far and wide. For those of you who still occasion ..read more

I once had an old friend accuse me of ruining her cherished childhood memories of her time on the swim team. Her evidence? I told her that our team’s head coach, Andy King, had groomed and sexually assaulted my sister. I was rather shocked when my friend got mad at me, but not at the coach. Why was she mad at me? What had I done?
At the time that my sister was being assaulted, it was actually well known that something was happening. But back in the 80s they didn’t use such big nasty phrases such as sexual assault. Instead they used words like affair. So the story went that m ..read more

I took one of my favorite skirts, not this one, to a local dry cleaner and they destroyed it! I didn’t even notice when I picked up the clothes, and they didn’t say anything. I wore the skirt before I ever even noticed that there was anything wrong. But when I did noticed, I couldn’t unsee it. The skirt had been this beautiful white and black ombre midi skirt. I purchased it years ago from Banana Republic and I lov ..read more

I know, a second outfit post in less than a week? What the actual shit? I’m not sure myself actually. But I wouldn’t get my hopes up on me continuing to be this consistent. I am sure that this is just a fluke. A co-inky-dink. But ya know, whatever.
I really really like this dress. I love the fabric, it’s a neoprene feel to it, I’m not really sure what that is called, but I love it. It is super cute in polka dots and the fit and flare cut. Almost all of ..read more

I have no idea when the last time was that I did an outfit post here. I am sure that I could look back and find out the answer. But I don’t know if I’m that invested in finding out the answer. Like, okay, it’s been forever and a day, I know, so I kind of think that is going to have to be good enough.
After my previous surgery I feel as though I am coming back into myself and remembering my likes and desires. One of them being, that I love my outfits and I’d li ..read more

It’s been 42 days since my last surgery. I decided to go in and have my coochie redone. Things were going okay but after many discussions with my therapist, and a visit or two with my surgeon, I decided is okay enough? And the answer was, no! No okay is not enough, especially when my version of okay involved quite a bit of discomfort that I had decided was good enough. And that was really where the problem was. Why was I settling for good enough? Why did I think that good enough included me being in physical discomfort?
It’s so weird. I’ve been in therapy now for about seven years I think and ..read more

I love the simplicity of this photo and the way that it has proven me to be so wrong about my body. I have never really seen any of my body parts as being very feminine. Yes I can for sure create great looking decolletage, but it really is just for so as my boobs aren’t really any where near as large as I can make them look in photos. But, I digress, this post is not about my breasts, though they may be small, they are mighty and they do exist, so that’s good, and I do see them as quite feminine, but the rest of my body? Yeah I don’t really see it as appearing all that feminine, especially so ..read more

On June 27th Jodie and I got married! Technically it is the second time we got married and it legally wont ever count for anything, but for me, it really felt like the first time we got married. I was able to be the one who got to plan the entire shin dig. I mean yes, like any good bride I asked Jodie what she wanted and I sought out her input frequently. But seriously, at the end of the day this was my production and I loved it!
I began planning last summer while I was healing from my surgery and the first person I hired was my photographer, Angela Nelson. I was so super nervous to hire some ..read more

I think it probably is about five years ago that my friend Dana came to me and asked me if I would be interested in creating a podcast with her. She had this crazy idea about doing a podcast focusing on transgender issues from people who live in the central valley of California. Of course I jumped at the opportunity. Initially the podcast was run under a nearby LGBTQ+ organization but it quickly became apparent that we needed to privatize our show. Dana and I wer ..read more

Do you know how large a bile duct is? I didn’t. But now I do. It is about 2-4 mm. Which isn’t very large. It is so strange to ponder if most of my readership understands the metric system. Most of the world knows metric better than imperial measurements, but most of my readers are from the US where I wonder if they really know the different between 2 mm and 1/4 inch, but I digress. Let’s just say that a bile duct is typically no larger than the size of a standard drinking straw. In fact a drinking straw would be a little large for parts of the bile duct.
Why this sudden interest in something ..read more
