Goldpfeil, a renowned German leather company, has a complex history dating back to 1856. The brand's dark association with Hitler's regime contrasts with its later success as a luxury leather producer. Despite bankruptcy in 2008, remnants of Goldpfeil products are still available for purchase. The company also ventured into Swiss watches and planners, although the latter remains less prominent ..read more

This Dollar Store Notebook Has Fountain Pen Friendly Paper According to the dates inside this notebook, I’ve had it since May of 2016. I bought it at a time when I knew I would be downsized. The company I was working for had moved on and I decided not to move on with it. It would have meant uprooting my family to a different state. Growing up, that happened to me and honestly, I did not want that for my family. Hence I did not want to spend too much money on a notebook. I normally used Hobonichi, Baron Fig, and other notebooks mainly for their resistance to fountain pen ink. This notebook had ..read more

Filofax Finsbury and Franklin Quest Pocket binders are my current EDC notebooks. I have gone through a shift in my EDC notebooks. I am still in transition but things have changed significantly. It all started in May or June 2023 when I missed an important appointment which resulted in me having to go to court. I should have gone to court, to begin with. I missed jury duty. I had never missed a jury duty appointment up until that point and while I don’t want to make up excuses, I was under a lot of stress. I had recently been given a not-so-favorable health report and had to decide to make some ..read more

I went to 5 Below and did not expect to find a calligraphy fountain pen set. For $4 you get 6 nibs and to pen bodies. I recorded a first impressions video so let me know what you think. Since I like triangular sections, I did not even notice and just naturally started using the pens ..read more

So I messed up and while trying to prime the feed of my Noodler’s Konrad, I ended up unscrewing the piston from the barrel. The ink went out of the nib end of the pen but luckily I had the cap on. Needless to say, the pen needed some cleaning. So, taking advantage of the situation I created a YouTube video ..read more

At some point in your pen journey, you will probably order a custom pen. It’s fun, and you get to customize just about everything about your pen. Pick the materials, depending on the maker, you can choose the nib, filling system, and style of the pen. Dimensions may be customizable too. There are two main types of custom pens out there. Kit pens and full custom pens. Kit pens will generally cost less because the maker does not have to turn so many parts. Full custom pens will be more costly.
