Out of all the diss songs recently released, if anyone was going to do a music video for their diss track, it was going to be Rick Ross. Today, Rozay dropped the visuals for his Drake diss track, “Champagne Moments.” In the video, Ross hangs out in an airplane hangar while promoting Luc Belaire and his upcoming car show ..read more

Ye has entered the chat. I felt it was only a matter of time before Kanye West would insert himself into the Drake versus Kendrick Lamar everybody beef, and here we are. There have been rumors about Yeezy jumping on “Like That” for a minute. Then I saw that Adam 22 said he had a version of it. Later, a version of it leaked earlier today, and I thought it was A.I…. until Kanye West himself premiered it on Justin LaBoy’s The Download. Over a remixed production by Metro Boomin, Kanye West, & The Legendary Traxster, Kanye starts off by getting straight to the point: You know we had to get Th ..read more

Drake – “Taylor Made Freestyle”

So Drake has dropped another diss song towards Kendrick Lamar, featuring *read notes* AI verses from Snoop Dogg and 2Pac? Yeah, that’s a thing on Drizzy’s latest track, “Taylor Made Freestyle.” Drake is basically trying to use the same playbook he did with his Meek Mill beef, dropping two consecutive disses with no response. (This song was dropped on Drake’s Instagram with the caption “While we wait on you I guess.”) I’m also wondering if Drake hit up the guy who made that AI Kendrick song that everybody thought was real. (That would be kind of funny and meta.) The first verse is Pac addressi ..read more

Yesterday was 50 Cent Day in my hometown. Curtis Jackson was welcomed and honored in the 318 as he signed the lease for G-Unit Studios. Mr. Jackson will brought entertainment industry opportunities with his new production hub. In honor of G-Unit Studios opening in Shreveport, Louisiana, I wanted to showcase 50 Cent’s past ventures to the South thru freestyles over Southern beats and collaborations with Southerners. No Young Buck songs because that would be too easy. I wanted to challenge myself. Enjoy ..read more

Nicki Minaj has released the all-star remix SLEEZEMIX of her hit song “FTCU,” featuring Travis Scott, Chris Brown, and Sexyy Red. It’s cool, I guess. Chris Brown has an okay verse, but you could probably have left Travis Scott’s part out altogether. To be real, this should have just been Nicki and Sexyy Red, and that’s it. Notable Tracks: The Notorious B.I.G., Society of Soul, & Splash Brothers

This edition of Notable Tracks carries a somber tone. I’ve selected two songs this week as a tribute to recently departed artists, as well as one song that reflects on Hip-Hop’s current landscape of beefs (which, I’m sure you’ll be able to distinguish). Let’s dive in. The Notorious B.I.G. – “Real Niggaz” R.I.P. Mister Cee. As the DJ who basically helped discover The Notorious B.I.G. (and executive produced his first album, Ready To Die), I felt it was only right to feature a track that I first heard on Mister Cee’s The Best Of Notorious B.I.G. mixtape, “Real Niggaz”. I’ve been listening to ..read more

Originally, I was going to post Tyra B’s “Country Boy” since Beyonce’s Cowboy Carter has turned the spotlight on Black country singers. S/O to Shreveport’s own Willie Jones. I wanted to pay homage to the Virginia singer for showing love to the dudes in dirty jeans and dusty boots back in the day; 2005. Instead, I’ll share a ballad to slow things down to have a moment of reflection to appreciate those we have or lost in our lives. Enjoy. Have a good week! Happy Sunday ..read more

Olayemi Olurin is a Political Commentator and Lawyer. I ain’t know none of that. I just be following people on Twitter that entertain/educate me. When she shared a trailer last year, announcing her YouTube channel, I subscribed immediately. She started with videos about why Trump isn’t going to jail, the mistreatment of Angel Reese online and in the media (glad, that’s over, right?), and the incompetence of New York Mayor, Eric Adams. I was happy to see a full-circle moment where Ms. Olay was able to converse with Mayor Adams on the Breakfast Club two weeks ago. For the last three weeks, f ..read more
