The Only Rings….. Sharing my experiments on shapes with tatting - Polygons using Single Shuttle. Each polygon has been tatted using ‘only rings’, Bare Thread to move forward and Clovers at each vertex in a circular way. Number of rings at the center decides the shape of a polygon. SR (Split Ring) with the thread left at the beginning of the round has been used to climb out to the next round. SSSR(Single Shuttle Split Ring) is another option.  Sharing a Bookmark pattern---- RADIANCE BOOKMARK Tatted with Single Shuttle. Clovers are joined with small rings, leaving Bare Thread of 30 mm between each. Find PDF pattern here: Radiance Bookmark  Marie McCurry has been so kind and helpful to test tat the pattern. She tatted this Bookmark in beautiful variegated Lizbeth thread. The Bare Thread length of 30 mm as in the written pattern did not fit  for Lizbeth thread due to the difference in the thread thickness.  Yellow Delight …..A Square motif tatted in one pass with..... Split Rings Strings (SRS), a Braid of tiny split rings of (3/3) each,  giving a beautiful string effect with contrast colours. A new concept of ornamental Starrings Bookmark using naked silver rings and beaded Dot Picot Strings.   The star motifs and tassels are tatted with Dot Picot Strings using Dot Picots and seed beads alternatively. Dot Picot Strings are woven onto the center ring of each motif with Hidden Picot method. Tatters need to empty shuttles every time to take up new projects  which may result in beautiful lace or motif patterns.  My emptying shuttles resulted in………………… First try with single variegated thread   and another with two sold color threads. My tatter friend Madhur reminded me that the motif which  came up was exactly same as the first two rows of her Unending Doily.  What a coincidence, she also tatted the doily to empty the shuttles.  The first trial shows the bare thread over the center ring and shuttle  join in each picot which are fairly visible. Tatting on Rings⭘ ▢ △ ◊ ⬯................. I have been working on new jewelry patterns using metal rings of different sizes from 2,3,4 mm to 38mm and also in different shapes e.g. round, teardrop diamonds etc. Sharing here my new danglers using Puff pattern.
