U.S. Sustainability Alliance members participated in the US-EU Collaboration Platform on Agriculture’s (CPA) second in-person stakeholder session in Washington, DC, on 8-9 April. The event was attended by representatives from organizations such as the Almond Board of California, the American Feed Industry Association, the Leather & Hide Council of America, the U.S. Dairy Export Council, the North American Export Grain Association, and the U.S. Soybean Export Council.

The U.S. government is investing a record-breaking $1.5 billion in partner-driven conservation and climate solutions in FY 2024 through the Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP) administered by USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). The funding marks a 50% increase from 2023, following an unprecedented demand in the program, which has been streamlined and simplified for FY 2024.

The first commercially produced product funded by USDA’s $3 billion Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities program is now available to U.S. consumers. U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack visited a rice mill in Wisconsin for the launch of the new climate-smart rice, which promises to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 95% and cut water use by up to a third.
