I bought a pattern from etsy (thekimandI) It does need stiffening. But I am quite happy with how it turned out.
I did find adding beads difficult to work with as they kept slipping down whilst working. Any tips and tricks?

I've been searching through the Antique Pattern Library for a very specific edging pattern I want to use -- and tonight I found it! (https://www.antiquepatternlibrary.org/pub/PDF/Collingbournes11TattingMaltese.pdf if you're curious) Unfortunately, it appears in what looks to be just an advertisement, with no actual pattern. I've tried my hand at guessing at the pattern myself, but I'm too much of a beginner and my ratios are definitely off. If anyone in here has some time to spare and might be able to take a guess at the pattern, that would be amazing ♥️ I can read bare-bones patterns jus ..read more

I found a tatting book in an antique book shop last weekend and decided I wanted to jump in at the deep end and make a detachable collar from a modified doily pattern I found in it. It’s far from perfect, but I’m having so much fun and learning loads :) one half done!

I am new to tatting and have no idea what is expected from the instructions "R 12+12 (to long p of 1st r)". Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
For whatever reason, I am unable to link the pattern without my post getting removed, but this is what the doily and instructions look like on the site

I have been using just the cheap plastic shuttles. I got a dreamlit one but wasn’t a fan. I keep seeing beautiful wooden ones. I have just been decorating my little plastic ones so far
My question is -are wooden ones easy to use
-has anyone ever made their own shuttles and how? I would love to make my own somehow, the only thing I can think of is to hand carve one?

I'm wanting to make some gifts for some queer friends of mine, but am having trouble figuring out the best matches for pride flag colors. Unfortunately the only Lizbeth threads I already own are the wrong colors, I don't entirely trust the screen colors, and buying samples would add up quick. Does anyone happen to have Lizbeth color recommendations for pride projects?
Specifically right now I'm looking for pride flag colors for: bisexual, trans, asexual, and gender queer. The inclusive rainbow is also a possibility but lower priority, and I'm happy to hear about other flag color-matching in c ..read more
