So I've had this little skein of crochet/tatting thread for a while. I've been using it for making doilies. I'm not even sure if it's crochet or tatting thread to be honest cos it had no label but it's the same weight and texture as your standard crochet thread. I found it in my textiles teacher's "free scraps for students box" a few months back so I took it, but it never came with a skein label on it. I so badly wanna buy more of this thread but I can't find it anywhere online. Most crochet threads come on those cardboard spool things and barely have enough thread for a whole doily. Hi guys! I really want to tat more, but I have a huge problem with constantly sweaty hands that stain white yarn and makes it impossible to close circles or move stitches. Does anyone have any tips or tricks?

Last year, I asked if anyone knew how to get Lisbeth thread economically to New Zealand. Now, although I have seen multipacks being sold since, to buy single colours is still so expensive.
So I was on Ali express, and found some branded "Rhapsody" that seems to have all the same colourways.
It arrived today and it is pretty legit. I don't know what Lisbeth feels like, because I still haven't got any, but it is definitely the same weight and feel of the tatting threads I do have, but with the pretty variegated colours I have been wanting to try.

Hi! I am very new to tatting, and came across this phrase in a pattern: "leave t inch thread." between rings. Does anyone know how long that thread should be? The pattern for reference: https://www.antiquepatternlibrary.org/pub/PDF/6-AK015Nichols.pdf (page 4)
Thanks in advance!

Hi all!
I’m planning on making a dress for my work Christmas party this year (so early, I know, but I also know it’ll take forever).
I’m expecting to basically create almost an overlay that I’ll wear over a simple sheath style dress (I think). I’m debating between tatting and Irish lace motifs (or combining the two). I’m an experienced crocheter, but enjoy learning new hobbies and tatting appealed to me.
Has anyone ever made a dress (or even a top) using the tatting method and can give advice on things to avoid or that didn’t work?

Started this pattern by Gail Weaver https://www.reddit.com/r/tatting/s/5NVzjp8QIf Second project ever, did not know how two shuttle tatting worked when I started, still 3 more rows to go, and quite impressed with myself.
