Ensuring all staff retain high levels of current and relevant knowledge is important at Liz Lake Associates, we therefore ensure our CPD events are targeted and useful. To build on our collective knowledge of hard landscaping, Marshalls kindly dropped into our Stansted Practice to give everyone a CPD session on paving build-ups and the pro’s and con’s of bound and unbound paving construction in different environments. As part of the session, we got involved in actually creating a small extent of unbound block-paved footpath in an interactive demonstration which saw each of us selecting ..read more

After several years of building work, including the construction of a temporary bridge over the Cam and erection of a crane in the Master’s garden, Clare College marked the official opening of the River Room on the 14th December 2024. The building was positioned within a narrow wedge of land between two brick gardens walls, this construction was incredibly challenging with all building works assembled onsite, and machinery and materials brought in via the temporary bridge. The integration of new facilities within the historic fabric of the Old Court is both ingenious and impressive. What was ..read more

Swiss Laundry was a South Cambridge landmark for over a century, once a tannery set beside a busy cattle market, this became a laundry in 1904.  Now lovingly revived by a specialist team of local designers and contractors, its classic red brickwork now fuses with the highest quality contemporary materials, creating a high-spec workplace for info-driven businesses. The site still retains the original Cambridge Gault brickwork, accentuated by high ceilings, mezzanines, and floods of natural light. The multi-functional external spaces create bespoke break-out areas and high quality seating ..read more
