i got my second round of botox 16 days ago, and this round felt way different than the first round. i saw a different neurologist since my usual one is on maternity leave. my first round went great and i didn’t feel much pain or soreness after, i actually felt quite good almost like an acupuncture. but this time it was extremely sore and painful after, and it should’ve started working by now but i’ve been having really bad migraines and horrible neck pain that i get when my meds aren’t working. i’m also on my 9th month of emgality, which started really working after month 7. i’m not sure if t ..read more

I now only seem to get migraines when I stay at my boyfriends and I can’t work out why.

My migraines started at around 14, at first they were almost daily eventually they got less and less and as a late teen I realised they were only really happening before my periods. So I figured they were triggered by hormones. I went on the mini pill and no more periods so no more migraines but I have noticed if I do get them it’s always if I stayed at my boyfriends. I will wake up feeling really groggy snd then gradually just get a headache as the day goes on. Sometimes once I’m home it eases other times I need to sleep. I just can’t work out what’s triggering them. Maybe lack of sleep? We ..read more

Migraine and plasma donation

I had a nightmare experience yesterday while donating plasma. My vision started getting floaty (has happened before when the fluid is going back in) but it didn’t stop it kept getting worse and I was seeing swirlys and blurred vision spots. I finally realized I was getting a migraine. I’ve had them with aura before but it was only ever 1 eye, never both. I felt this panicky feeling and had them check me out to make sure it wasn’t something else. It was one of the worst migraines of my life (if not the worst). I was violently vomiting and just dry heaving when there was nothing to come up. It ..read more

3 week long pain.

Hey everyone, so I’ve had three weeks long of horrible head pain and in my eyes as well. I’ve had migraines before, but nothing like this. Usually my migraines will last maybe a week or a tiny bit more and then go away. I went to my primary and they had me do a steroid pack which did absolutely nothing. I have a neurologist appointment tomorrow but I feel so lost and scared right now. is this common? Can this even happen? I’m just really scared. I’m also unbelievably nauseous. Probably from that steroid but still. Could really use some advice and comforting words here. submitted by /u/Brocco ..read more

Finding the 'why'? Retinol?

Has anyone else noticed a correlation between a sudden increased severity and frequency of migraines and using Retinol on their face? I've been wracking my brain trying to understand why it's so bad at the moment while I've been really good at avoiding food and alcohol triggers and it suddenly struck me that this is something I introduced in early February at about the time my migraines became far more frequent and often more severe. Could absorbing that chemical so close to the brain be neurotoxic for some of us? submitted by /u/justadubliner [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Compozine

I have been dealing with some pretty horrendous migraines and vertigo after waking up from a surgery in October, I’ve had literally no relief. Last week I had a migraine so bad I had to go to the ER after rizatriptan was basically like it whispered in the wind and I just couldn’t handle the pain. I was given compozine with Benadryl and it took my migraine from 10-0 in about 20 minutes. I did have the insane restlessness and anxiety, I flipped out and called my mom multiple times saying I was trapped and couldn’t get out. Eventually that wore off. Oddly enough it’s been a week and I haven’t ha ..read more

Hello my first post here. My recent migraine attacks occured right after eating something either high in sugar (triggers were chocolate donut and rum candy bar) and third trigger in january was eating absolutely nothing all morning to mid after noon. Do you think this could be related to sugar in blood? submitted by /u/Overall_Ad8582 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I’ve had migraines a couple of times in my life. I went to the doctor yesterday, because I need a note for work and she ended up prescribing me 100mg of sumatriptan. I took one pill, even though the dosage seemed a little high and I’m having side effects and they are not fun. I would love advice on how to deal with them as well. submitted by /u/Valyagoryacheve [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Pls dont tell me im imagining things, theres something about spring that always makes me nauseous and gives me headaches but I cant put a finger to what it is. Its almost like I can smell or feel it in the air but I cant smell or feel it really. Just something that fucks up my sensors and I hate everything about spring for this reason. Especially when sun is setting down in the late afternoon makes it bad. For as long as I can remember. Only spring it didnt happen was when I lived in Asia where the weather is same throughout the year. I dont have allergies nor did I ever need antihistamines ..read more
