Beyblades! The kids got some for christmas, or have bought with their money and are currently in a BeyBlade frenzy. They both seem to know the composition of each bey, which parts belong where. And Alex even knows the names of most of them and their properties! Drain Fafnir arrived and is Alex’s most precious! So many days playing beyblades. Daniel made an arena out of some old wood with Vio’s help. All the kids (including neighbours) play with it. The shows are good too, Alex has watched several times, and the kids love the music and look up the songs on YouTube. They are also watching ..read more

So, it’s December 2018, almost another new year and I am sat here writing blog posts that should have been done a long time ago! In fact I have written a single one all of this year. I definitely want to keep this record of the kids, and I write notes by hand and take photos but there is something stopping me from doing it so regularly. Most notably time! So i need to catch up. And instead of worrying about how consistent my posts are (in appearance, title, and formatting), I’m going to LET GO a little and just write. i don’t need to note every time we go to football training, but I do want t ..read more

Home Beyblades! Kids into them heaps, especially Alex. He watched over Daniel and Jacob very fairly and responsibly. Made some Christmas decorations – paper chains. Also made parkour course in lounge! Daniel hurt himself and it was interesting watching Alex nurse him (can you move your legs? wiggle your toes). they concluded that Daniel can’t do the same as Alex, so they built in an intermediate step. Kids made Christmas cards and Alex actually wanted to write in his! He asked me to write for him to copy. Made a christmas wreath out of our hand prints. Snap circuits – the kids experiment ..read more

Home Played ‘pass the pigs’ – Daniel got very lucky, Alex got annoyed! Alex added up his scores himself.  Alex helped Daniel play the Dude perfect trick shot game, and explained trajectories to him. Watched the Nut Job 2, Alex had loved the original. I think they liked this one better. I got a new toy – brackitz. I’d been waiting to get them out and this quiet afternoon at home seemed perfect. The kids loved them. Alex made an aeroplane, and Daniel made lots of little devices. The kids helped us in the garden with some hammering. We got out the slip n slide  -summertime! Kids had lo ..read more

Home Daylight savings so everyone up late! Reading books in bed – Daniel still likes Maisy, Alex asks for funny bones. Played popper game. I got very lucky with lots of 6s. Alex got upset about it and we talked about probability. Morning cuddles usually make for a good day Played some yahtzee Kids enjoying each others company and declare their love and ‘best friendship’. Started watching Emoji movie but it was boring, so we switched to hotel Transylvania 2 again. Played Blokus, Daniel took to it really well! I was very impressed as it’s for older kids. Home Family nerf wars! I bought the kids fossil dig kits and they set to work excavating immediately. Alex had dinosaur and Daniel got shark teeth. No space in playroom so we had a big clean up, and then set up a cubby to sleep in – the kids had wanted to make a cubby in lounge but i try to avoid so Vio has somewhere to relax when he gets home. The kids set up sleeping bags and we slept there, until about 2am when i couldn’t stand the waking and discomfort any longer! read ‘The book with no pictures’. the kids LOVED it – especially the part about Boo Boo Butt. Science experiments – a glow one ..read more

It’s December real-time. And I have not blogged for sooo long. I have notes, and pictures. but that’s it. So in a bid to get on top of things again for 2018 9when the regs kick off and someone might actually look at this stuff) I’m going to give a speedy review of the second half of 2017, month by month.   Vio was away for the first week on a football trip. We mostly had early nights and stories in bed! We picked Vio up and the kids were so happy to see him! Both loving the new Wild Kratts episodes and movies, going to the skate park and nerf wars. Also into science experiments – we made ..read more

Home Science experiment with coke and mentos, and diet coke and mentos to see which one would be best. First we did in a flask but it didn’t work well, so we used the bottles instead and it was much better. the diet coke was the best reaction though Daniel has been watching dinosaur train. Alex suggested that buddy (the tyrannosaurus) was in a pteranodons nest because they both begin with ‘ter’ (sound). Explain that one phonics!!! I just mentioned that whilst they made the same sound the spelling was quite different but he wasn’t looking at the words so I left the explanation at that. Movies ..read more
