Cloverwood Senior Living had a “tea-riffic” idea, combining a summer afternoon tea for residents with a back to school supplies drive! Residents who donated school supplies were treated to a special event featuring a variety of assorted finger sandwiches, cookies, hot tea and freshly brewed iced tea as a thank you for giving back. Thirty back packs and a variety of school supplies were collected, including notebooks, binders, pencils, erasers, glue, crayons, markers and much more. For the past ten years, Friendly Home residents have been coming together to create heart-shaped pillows for cardiac patients at Rochester General Hospital. A celebration was held to commemorate the making of the 1,000th pillow. Beth Perdan, a Life Enrichment Specialist at the Friendly Home, has been leading this special program for a decade, inspired by a family member in Utica who received a heart pillow while hospitalized. When you think you’ve had enough, drink another glass!
