At about 1:44 AM, on Monday, July 17, 2023, officers assigned to the Anti-Crime Unit of District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Melvin McGregor, 32, of Haverhill, on multiple firearm charges. Officers were on patrol in the area of 85 Cedar Street, when they conducted a CJIS query of a motor vehicle which revealed it had revoked registration. Officers made contact with the occupants, and became aware that the operator did not have a license. Domestic Violence calls are among the most dangerous 911 calls that Boston Police Officers encounter every day. Yesterday, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) reinforced this when they assisted a male threatening to harm himself with a firearm after a family dispute. Boston EMS transported the male to a local hospital for evaluation and the police secured the firearm. 15-Year-Old Arrested with a Firearm in Mattapan

At about 7:44 PM, on Sunday, July 16, 2023, officers assigned to the Anti-Crime Unit of District B-3 (Mattapan) made an on-site firearm arrest of a 15-year-old male. Officers were on patrol in the area of Johnston Road and Blue Hill Avenue when they attempted to speak with a group, and one male attempted to flee. At about 5:25 PM, on Saturday, July 15, 2023, officers assigned to District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) arrested a 17-year-old juvenile male on firearm related charges. Officers were informed that a legally owned firearm was stolen from a victim’s motor vehicle. The victim reported to officers that she had stored the firearm in the truck of her vehicle.
