I haven't really explored using green screen. I was wondering if it's possible to wear lacey see through clothes like the one on the photo. Will it be difficult to use chroma key on a fabric like this? submitted by /u/AintSilk [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hey everyone! So I'm currently in college for a Computer Animation Bachelors and been doing 3D work, mostly hard surface modeling, for most of my time prior and in school. I really like it, but my end goal was to either get into Virtual Production and or just Compositing. I got into it all by wanting to create 3D models and merge them with live footage. I used to use AE but want to get into Nuke as I know it's Industry Standard As of right now I'm a way better 3D modeler than I was before but nothing crazy, but I also want some practice or direction in Nuke or just as being a compositor etc ..read more

Hey All, This is mainly for the VFX Editors in the group. Been trying to negotiate rates for a new show that I’ve been asked to do but think they are lowballing. Been offered £2000/weekly for a high end tv series which is just over 10% more than BECTU recommended min rate. Feel like this is low after completing 3 shows prior to this, last one as the lead editor which I got £2200. Not sure if this is good or if they are starting to try and get people at lower rates? Was expecting £2500/weekly, I try to increase every project that I fully completed. I know a few others but they work in features ..read more

Remote working outside region and film subsidies

I'm starting to see VFX studios not offer remote work because of film subsidies OR having to jump through major hoops to get remote approval with the higher ups. It will cost the studio more to hire a remote worker because that artist will not qualify for the film subsidy due to them being outside the region/country. In essence the VFX studio is paying full price rather than a subsidized price for an artist who lives outside of the subsidized region. Are any of the places you all work at starting to do the same thing? Thoughts? submitted by /u/3DNZ [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
