What does someone do with something like this? It was found while cleaning out the house of a deceased person. I don't want to keep it but I don't feel it should be destroyed. Does it have any value?

John Adams wished he could end the war and return to the status quo before the American Revolutionary War

I’m really hoping someone can help with this. I distinctly remember a quote by John Adams (maybe in his letters to Abigail), where he said that during the American Revolutionary War, he would have given anything to return to the state of affairs before Independence, and would have worked things out with the British to avoid the war. Essentially noting the toll of the war in struggle and suffering. Does this ring a bell to anyone? I cannot find the quote online, and now I’m wondering if maybe I’m mistakenly attributing it to Adams, when someone else had said it. Thanks! submitted by /u/reddis ..read more
