“Stepping into the hard and broken places is where I see God move mountains over and over again. No one in our family shares DNA. And when I look around our table, I see our beautiful family, each person so different, and I remember their birth families who brought us together.” Jennifer and Jonathan Sato The goal of Show Hope’s Adoption Aid grants is to fund 25 to 35 percent of the total costs associated with adoption. Until recently, our grants have ranged between $6,000 and $10,000 each. To meet rising adoption costs, that range is now between $8,000 and $12,000 each. In addition to the ..read more

More than 20 years ago, Mary Beth and Steven Curtis Chapman dreamed of helping 100 children come home to the love of a family through adoption. Today, nearly 8,900 children have been impacted by a Show Hope Adoption Aid grant. Yet the need remains the same as it did in 2003.  The goal of Show Hope’s Adoption Aid grants is to fund 25 to 35 percent of the total costs associated with adoption. Until recently, our grants have ranged between $6,000 and $10,000. However, to meet rising adoption costs, that range is now between $8,000 and $12,000 each.  In addition to the rising cost, S ..read more

When Love Won

Dear friends, As Easter approaches, I have been thinking a lot about the resurrection of Jesus. As I reflect on this miraculous, literal life-altering, history-changing event, I am always humbled that as a Christian, the God of the universe put on flesh, took the weight of my sin, and paid for it with His life. I cannot fathom those three days before the resurrection, yet as I sit in the reality, these truths hit me again: Jesus died, was buried, and then resurrected, sealing eternity with Him for us.  Death was swallowed up, and love won!  As simple as it sounds, it seems every ..read more

For parents or caregivers, understanding the medical needs of our children can be challenging and even daunting. So if this holds true, think how your other children are processing the medical needs of their sibling. Whether a brother or sister has an injury, needs surgery, or has an illness, your child may be experiencing thoughts and feelings that he or she does not know how to express. Some thoughts and feelings that your child is experiencing may include … Missing you and/or his or her sibling.  Not understanding the extent of the needs, leaving him or her to  feel worried or ..read more

“We love because he first loved us.” 1 John 4:19 God created us to be in relationship—at peace within ourselves, with him, and with others. And yet, with the fall of mankind into sin, we now experience the pain of broken relationships and the vulnerability of isolation. This is the painful reality for many children who have been impacted by abuse, trauma, loss, and/or neglect. However, as only God could design, the human brain is pliable and can be rewired. Dr. Karyn Purvis once said, “Our children were harmed in relationship, and they will experience healing through nurturing relationships ..read more

“It was a challenge to know there was a child who was potentially already born, but we couldn’t get to him or her,” Aaron Littmann shared. “But the Lord remained faithful.”  In March 2021, Aaron and his wife, Jane, were matched with their daughter, Nolitha. A year later, the Littmanns received approval, travel dates, and a court date. Three months before their travel date, though, they received a call from their agency.  “They originally told us we would be [in South Africa] for four to six weeks, but they were now telling us that we would instead be there for three to five month ..read more

Dear friends, Today, I sit here in profound gratitude for you, as I reflect upon the incredible journey that Show Hope has taken over the past 20 years. When we founded Show Hope in 2003, our vision was simple: to care for the world’s most vulnerable children by breaking down the barriers that hindered their paths to adoption. And you all responded! We believed then and still do that every child deserves the love and security ..read more
