Hi all,
I have an established product with non-AR functionalities. Now I would like to develop small AR feature that will extend my offering/portfolio and improve user experience.
The product itself is a web based application (React/NodeJS stack) so this was the main reason why I investigated existing WebAR concepts, to ease our development and integration effort.
So, the use case is pretty simple. The user should be outside, walking around… User spots QR code (wall, pillar, …), scans it and on specific place in user’s surrounding (GPS coordinates, some other mechanism?) simple AR model with ..read more

Found this article on the server company Gigabyte's website about how a startup in Silicon Valley is using their servers/workstations to generate a 3D hologram that you can see without wearing any kind of headset. According to the story, the company calls it immersive naked-eye mixed reality, but judging by the pictures it's literally a hologram that even responds to your line-of-sight, etc. The link is here if anyone's interested: https://www.gigabyte.com/Article/success-story-achieving-naked-eye-3d-with-virtual-reality?lan=en

Hi everyone! I am trying to create a table-top RPG, and I want the scene to spawn on the table in my room when the game loads, and I have spent the past few days going in circles. I tried editing the Find Spawn Positions building block and add logic to attach the scene to the middle of a table, but it would not save and just revert back when I edit it. I am not sure if that is even the correct way to go about it. Any tips or help would be appreciated, thanks! I am in Unity on Meta Quest 3 using MRUK and OVR Camera Rig v 63

Hi folks.
I'm an experience dev. I'm looking to build an AR glasses app that could identify objects the wearer is looking at based on a cloud service. The gist of the idea is to take a snapshot of whatever the user is looking at, send that image to some API service, and based on the response do something (e.g. put some label on the objects detected etc.).
I have looked into a few options:
- Apple Vision Pro: not AR really (VR), and too rich for my blood
- Xiaomi's AR Smart Glasses: I read this is more like a prototype and there is no convenient SDK to build something like I mentioned (I might ..read more

Looking to get a pair of smart glasses, maybe something with mixed reality. Looking at some options (meta, xreal, rayneo, viture) but would really love the chance to try them on in person and see how they feel and look on my face.. especially given how clunky I suspect them to be.
I know the Meta glasses can be found in a rayban store and best buy, but are there any other chains carrying demos of these glasses?
I'm in south bay area (northern california) if anyone happens to know a spot specific to this region.
Thanks!
