The New York Rangers took a 3-0 series lead on the Carolina Hurricanes with a 3-2 overtime win in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Second Round at PNC Arena on Thursday.
Artemi Panarin scored the game-winning goal just 1:43 into overtime to help clinch the game for New York, who have yet to be defeated this postseason, having won all of their seven matches thus far. Chris Kreider and Alexis LaFreniere also scored goals for the Rangers, and Igor Shesterkin made 45 saves.
The Rangers will attempt to complete the sweep of the Hurricanes in Game 4, taking place at PNC Arena on Saturday at 7 PM ..read more

The Florida Panthers beat the Boston Bruins with a 6-1 win in Game 2 of the second round series at Amerant Bank Arena in Florida on Wednesday.
Aleksander Barkov had two goals and two assists, Brandon Montour had a goal and two assists, Sam Reinhart added four assists, and Steven Lorentz, Gustav Forsling and Eetu Luostarinen also scored; while goalie Sergei Bobrovsky finished with 15 saves for the Panthers.
The series moves to Boston for Game 3, set to take place on Friday at 7 p.m.

The NY Knicks defeated the Indiana Pacers in Game 2 of their Eastern Conference semifinals with a 130-121 win, giving NY a 2-0 series lead.
Jalen Brunson came back from an early injury scare to lead the Knicks to victory, finishing with 29 points (all but five of which came in the second half) and five assists while shooting 11-of-18 from the field, while OG Anunoby had 28 points for NY before leaving the game in the third quarter with a hamstring injury. The Knicks’ Donte DiVincenzo added 28 points, and Josh Hart dropped 19 points and 15 rebounds to seal the win.

Jaylen Brown led the Celtics with 32 points and six rebounds, while Derrick White scored 25 with five assists, Payton Pritchard had a 16-point performance off the bench, and Jayson Tatum scored 18 to go along with 11 rebounds. Morgan Geekie, Mason Lohrei and Brandon Carlo all scored to give Boston a 3-1 lead after the second period, with Justin Brazeau adding another goal in the third, and Jake DeBrusk scoring with an empty-net goal.
