There is good news on the horizon with the imminent roll out of COVID vaccines, but we shouldn’t get too excited as there is still a way to go. Its hopeful but more resilience is needed particularly as pandemic fatigue seems to be setting in. Resilience is vital in these times and is the one thing that allows us to cope with the normal stress in life as well as being able to bounce back from a crisis. It’s a vital attribute to help us to deal with all the implications of the COVID pandemic. Many studies have been made around resilience and there is a wealth of research which suggest that resi ..read more

I've just been putting the finishing touches to my new Energy Workshop that I'm holding at my home in Normandie when I had a lovely reply to my Facebook page from a friend who said: 'I know your workshop with all your amazing experience will be fantastic! I have a deep respect for your work as a mutual client of ours undertook your sessions in Hypnotherapy and visualisation to unblock her energy to acheive pregnancy.... and the consultant said she couldn't conceive! This will be a wonderful experience with you in a beautiful setting' What a lovely comment to receive I am very grateful but I r ..read more

Nine things to stop

1. Trying to please everyone 2. Fearing change 3. Living in the past 4. Overthinking 5. Being afraid to be different 6. Beating yourself up over mistakes 7. Sacrificing your happiness for others 8. Thinking you're not good enough 9. Thinking you have no purpose This was one of the most galvanising posts I placed on my Facebook page. It really seemed to touch a nerve with people and I understand why because I too am guilty of a lot of these attributes. Or was. I find that my therapist training has helped me immeasurably with coming to terms with these self limiting beliefs. Yet so many of us s ..read more

That Sunday Night Dread Feeling

I used to get a lot of that dread feeling when I worked in a high powered job in London. I know a lot of people who still do. Its not a nice feeling and you want to look at your phone to check for messages but because its Sunday evening, its your time and you don't want to spoil it. Sound familiar? If you don't look you worry, if you do look it can be much the same result. You can't win. So you decide to check and just spend a few moments which then turns into hours of work then you go to bed and you can't get the emails out of your head and it takes hours to get to sleep. Finally you get to s ..read more

I received this in an email the other day which has reminded me that I haven't written in a while. Top 100 Hypnosis Blogs http://blog.feedspot.com/hypnosis_blogs/ It was nice surprise although made me realise I'm not nearly as prolific as some of the top writers but onwards and upwards! We all have to start somewhere. Things have been busy here in France hence my delay in producing any new blog posts. The online work has been going better than expected though and we've had some great breakthroughs. I'm finding it a great medium for change as it allows my clients to be in a familiar and relaxe ..read more

Hypnosis - what its really like

When you're in hypnosis, and you are believe it or not a lot over the course of a day, you're usually in the Theta state which is half-awake, half-asleep. Contrary to the name, its the awake part that makes it useful; all the sleep part does is lower your filters, known as the critical factor. Two of the clear signs that you're in hypnosis are softer breathing and REM - just like it is with the early stages of dreaming but as a general rule you still have awareness of your physical environment and if something makes you decide you want to leave hypnosis you will come out of it on your own. Yo ..read more

Being grateful

Things have been a little quiet on the therapy front lately during my move to France and many prospective clients were put off by a Skype or FaceTime consultation which I totally understand but I have to say I've always found it to be amazingly effective. Even a phone consultation had blown a previous client away and stunned me by its effectiveness and speed of result. Today I heard that a recent referral I saw only once and who had suffered with unimaginable lifetime anxiety has turned his life around so much that his wife wants to train as a hypnotherapist. It's at times like this that make ..read more

Look into my eyes....What is Hypnosis? Straight up I admit I am addicted to Hypnosis. I am a working Hypnotherapist and I love it. The reason I love it is because it's such a powerful tool for change. If I had a pound for every time someone came to me and said 'I wish I'd come to you first' I think I'd be quite well off by now. I see so many clients who have reached the end of their tether; they come to me out of desperation to get a result that has so far eluded them. One women had been to every doctor, specialist, therapist and practitioner over the years and had virtually given up until s ..read more

Dreading your holiday?

Its a bit of an oxymoron, dreading your holiday when you've been looking forward to a really hard earned break but its amazing how many people do. Just because they have a flight phobia. For many years I worked in the corporate world in London with colleagues that had to travel all around the globe, often at very short notice and I didn't think anything of it until one day I noticed one of them looking white as a sheet and very agitated. When I asked him what was the matter it transpired that he had a dreadful fear of flying. I started to pay a bit more attention and realised that it was a lo ..read more

All About Self Hypnosis (part 2)

Going into hypnosis Begin to close your eyes and clear your mind of any feelings of fear, stress, or anxiety. When you begin, you might find it difficult not to think. You may find that your thoughts keep intruding. When this happens, just observe them, and then let them pass, its perfectly normal. Entering hypnosis Say to yourself I am going into hypnosis for (fill in the blank) minutes. Notice any tension anywhere in your body and starting with your toes, imagine the tension slowly falling away from your body and vanishing. Imagine it freeing each body part one bit at a time starting with y ..read more
