Need to replace my seconds hand on this watch, The movement is a hattori vj42b. To my understanding, these movements are made by Seiko, I've found one I like that is the right color, also a funky, so I'd like to know if it'll work and fit. Thanks in advance for all help and advice.

My vintage Cartier Must with quartz battery has slowed down quite noticeably - more than 10 mins /day. Should I change the battery? Or is it likely something else?

Any tips on removing these? The two on the first photo just won't budge at all, the one on the second photo is completely sheared.

Very noob here. I got this Seiko Lord Matic 5601-9000 for real cheap as a project. The watch winds up, ticks and the hands advance at good time. The issue is I cannot adjust the time. When I pull the stem the hands seem to “slip” and cannot be moved when turning the stem. Unfortunately the back doesn’t open and I don’t have a crystal opener which I’ll need to get anyway to get the indice glued back on.
Is there a chance this is an issue that can be fixed with a replacement stem? Or is this more likely a more involved fix? I’ve done some movement swaps on quartz watches, crystal replacements ..read more

Hello I have a bulova 98C124 that recently had the crown break off. I’ve been looking for a stem replacement but since I’m new to diy watch repair I’m not sure what I’m looking for. I could really use some guidance I’m not sure if a generic stem replacement kit(the one’s with a an assortment of stems) would work or if it’s really specific. Any help would be appreciated

I've only replaced plain crystals and am curious how the ones with compression rings work. Can you use a Step-Tite on a watch that didn't originally have one? Are the plan and Step-Tite interchangeable? Thanks

I used the watch accuracy meter app on the watch and the thing was running with a beat error around 5.0. Any chance he actually serviced this thing. I'm no expert but that seems terrible for a watch that's been serviced.
I originally offered him about 300CAD less than he was asking but once I saw the numbers I wouldn't even pay what I offered and said thank you and walked away.

I have an old Seiko that was given to me and I love it but I want to have it fixed up a bit.
The gold plating is starting to wear off and you can see the silver underneath
There’s also scratches on the cover of the face (I dropped it and the cover fell out but I popped it back in and it hasn’t come out again, though when I wash my hands sometimes you can see it fogs up underneath which it didn’t used to do before)
Are these fixable?
