I was back at 100 Wardour street for my 3rd year installing their Pride window. Their framed window has a neon sign in the middle, so it’s a bit restrictive compositionally, but a joyful rainbow will always look good! See the behind the scenes video here You can also see my previous windows for 100WS here and here x, Willa ..read more

Last week I enjoyed three glorious days of sunshine at Royal Ascot with House of Peroni. It was my first time at a racecourse, and an unique opportunity to get dressed up for work. I was at the Peroni terrace, illustrating guests in their fabulously colourful hats and outfits. The illustrations were instantly Airdropped across to their phone as a memento of the day. And, here are my three outfits for the days. A mix of comfortable (flat shoes) and stylish ..read more

Marylebone Village have unveiled a new permanent installation welcoming shoppers to Marylebone High Street. The installation features an Elm Leaf design, inspired by London’s oldest surviving elm tree which lives on the street. In advance of the unveiling, I was commissioned created an illustration for the press launch, imagining what the installation would look like in-situ. The artwork was created both as a landscape and portrait, for use on postcards, on Marylebone Village’s website and on social media. The artwork was animated in-house for Instagram. x, Willa ..read more

Chelsea Flower Show window for Barnbury

An illustrator’s biggest joy is when a brief comes along that you just know is going to be FAB! That’s just what happened when interiors showroom, Barnbury, got in touch asking if I could install a window for this year’s Chelsea Flower Show. The theme for CFS this year was food, and Barnbury wanted something inspired by the Amalfi coast; think lemons! I really love painting large scale paintings with BIG brushes and large, statement illustrations. Florals and fruit just lend themselves beautifully to a more fluid and painterly style, and bigger brushes. The window was all painted free-hand ..read more

Leather painting for Marc Jacobs

The prize for the most camp and fabulous job for 2024 definitely goes to painting handbag dogs onto handbags. It’s one of those pinch me moments. Marc Jacobs invited me along to their Regent store for their International Pets Day event. I was offering free pet portraits to customers, hand-painted directly onto their leather (or vegan leather) handbags. Of course, it was 99% dogs. I mean, who doesn’t want their dog’s face on their MJ handbag! The event was a run-away success. What was meant to be one day, turned into two weeks, such was the demand. I painted about 10 bags a day, some with multi ..read more

Album cover illustrations for The Guardian Saturday.

The team at The Guardian asked me to squeeze in a last minute commission for them for a feature on counterfeit LPs. The idea was to create parody versions of famous album covers, using puns instead of their original titles. Have a look, my favourite pun is Miles Davis, Kind of Kind of Blue. Sadly, I can’t take any credit for coming up with the puns, that was all down to the genius of Christophe Gowans. All ten illustrations were painted in one night, so they’re a bit less polished than normal, but they’ve still got a charm. The albums were all recreated in watercolour. I think it worked part ..read more

Window Painting for Yves Delorme

Throughout 2024 I’ll be working with Yves Delorme to create monthly window displays for their London showrooms. Yves Delorme is a French heritage linen brand. Craftsmanship and creativity is an important element of their brand. With only two stores in London, they wanted to rethink their use of decals, and look for a more streamlined and eco-friendly alternative. To be as environmentally friendly as possible, I am sourcing paint from a local paint recycling centre, and mixing colours to get the right shade. So far, we have managed without using any new paint. The window designs reflect the lat ..read more

I’m pleased to share my latest illustrations for Kew gardens magazine. This issue, I illustrated two double spreads for 10 Must See Plants at Kew. The artwork was mainly of trees, and here are a few of my favourite. I also loved this waterlily painting, featuring the largest and smallest waterlilies together.
