I am so delighted to have worked with Rupert Sanderson to create this beautiful Christmas display in his Mayfair boutique. The brief from Rupert was to create a classic, single colour design that was both festive and incorporate the product line. We settled on suspended garland of baubles and festive foliage, leaving room to customers to peer inside at his beautiful shoes. You can also see a video on my Instagram. x, Willa ..read more

Just imagine receiving a delivery like this!? This fully hand-painted advent calendar is overflowing with luxury skincare products from EviDenS and hand-delivered to beauty editors across London. What a treat!     It was a bit of a mammoth task to hand-paint 10 of these calendars over a week, partly because it landed right at the same time as organising an exhibition, but with a bit of support from friends, they were completed on time and turned out beautifully. Here’s some pictures up close, and you can also pop over to Instagram to see a video of me making them. x, Willa ..read more

My Most Memorable Meal column for Sainsbury's magazine -part 2

Since the start of 2023, I've been working with Sainsbury's magazine on a monthly column called "My Most Memorable Meal." I already blogged about the first few commissions here, and here is part two. The commission involves creating illustrations to accompany celebrities' stories about their unforgettable dining experiences. I look forward to some of the bizarre stories that I have to draw. At times, it can be pretty challenging - and I have to do a fair bit of research. Each story is unique, and has specific details about the food, the location, the era, and the people involved, so there is ..read more

Personal work for publishing

Here’s some recent personal work of mine. I wanted to experiment by placing my illustrations into a different context, specifically considering it within publishing and book covers. The core illustration style is the same, but with a slightly different flavour. I’ve added secondary flowing lines which support the main illustration, adding decoration, placing it within context, or adding movement and composition. Just as normal, I’ve hand painted all of the elements and tweaked their colours and layout in Photoshop to get them just the way I want them. Let me know what you think. View fullsize ..read more

Window Painting for Marylebone Village

Marylebone Village has been undergoing a huge renovation, including the creation of two brand new retail units. The hoarding was brought down just in time for the village’s annual Shopping and Dining event, but left some hollow looking space within the bustling streets. I was invited to hand-painted the windows to help to bring some life, colour and creativity to an otherwise bland space. The windows were partly painted live during the event, adding some bonus action to the street for no additional cost. Perfect for the event, but designed to work through Autumn and Christmas until the units a ..read more

I created this series of watercolour food illustrations for media production client, CH Video. The assets were animated as part of a global corporation’s in-house staff training pack. Sadly I can’t share the full video for obvious reasons, but I can share my artwork with you. Also, to give you a flavour of the animation, here is a behind-the-scenes shot of the production process from CH Video ..read more

Headline books invited me to Waterstones Sheffield to install a window to celebrate the launch of Atalanta by Jennifer Saint. I was given permission by the book designer, Micaela Alcaino to translate her heroine into a window painting. Doesn’t she look powerful!
