Burn the Fields, Burn the Boats!

Farmer clearing a field with fire for new crops Welcome to the final few days of 2023. There is a bit of coincidence that I am writing this on December 21 – the winter solstice. Today, we finally stop losing minutes of daylight, confront the longest night of the year (at least in the northern hemisphere), and begin gaining more light tomorrow. This is a day of shifting energy and a time for reflection. Today is the day to decide what you are leaving behind, personally, professionally, energetically, in 2024 so that you can clear space for abundance and new creation in 2024. I’m reminded of th ..read more

The Inner Game Equation for Individuals and Teams

Trophies are for Winners Tim Gallwey’s Inner Game Equation provides an interesting perspective shift to realign us to our potential, and the achievement/expression of it. The equation is simple: performance = Potential minus Interference (p=P-I). Your performance is how you are showing up, the actions you are taking, the results you are achieving, and maybe even the thoughts in your head (are they supportively telling you that you can achieve more, or are they telling you that you screwed up again?). Potential, simply put, is anything you are not doing currently. You have the potential to be ..read more

What is a “Trust Catalyst?”
Daniel Olexa Hypnotherapy Blog
by Dan Olexa

My identity as The Trust Catalyst was born days before my 57th birthday. You could say it was a rebirth of my higher self as I discovered the freedom of free-falling during a skydive. You can read about that experience here. I was recently asked what my title, The Trust Catalyst, means. For me, it means being a force that creates trust in individuals; a trust that can help them to rise to higher achievements and ways of being. And for me, it means creating a bit of magic…more on that later. Let’s examine the words a bit more closely. Trust. As a verb, the word tends to lean toward belief, eve ..read more

Commitment to Craft: A Coaching journey

For International Coaching Week, I am reflecting on my coaching journey. On Wednesday, May 3, I passed the International Coaching Federation’s (ICF) credentialing exam to receive my MCC (Master Certified Coach) credential. This is a prestigious and elite honor. There are fewer than 2,100 MCC coaches in the world at this time, and only about 700 in the US (based on ICF’s Jan 2023 Membership Fact Sheet). When you think about all of the coaches out there…from credentialed coaches (training plus verified experience) to certified coaches (trained) to truly dedicated coaches who are following their ..read more

Be the pig (AKA #commitment)

Are you committed, or are you merely participating? In a coaching session earlier this week, I was reminded of the powerful difference between 'involvement/participation' and 'commitment.' As the client, I was struggling with having to make some lifestyle changes to improve my physical health and well-being. For years, I've joked that I'd be the worst client for any health coach, because I didn't feel bad enough to take action, and I wasn't connected to how much better I could feel if I took action...so I didn't take action toward improvement. Instead, I took action toward mediocrity: not exer ..read more

Free falling at 12,000 feet. Fresh out of the plane! What does it take to allow yourself to jump out of a perfectly good airplane at 12,000 feet? One word: Trust. There are many layers to trust in this moment. ·       Trust that everything will go well. ·       Trust in the plane and the crew. ·       Trust that your tandem leader is experienced. ·       Trust that the parachute will open. ·       Trust that the rest of the equipment won’t fail ..read more

Reno, NV News 4 life coach training Interview

I had the honor of being interviewed by Janete Weinstein from News 4 in Reno, NV about the booming life coaching industry. You can watch it here. If you are curious about becoming a coach, whether it is as a part-time career, as a move to a new career, or as an additional service to what you already offer, vet a number of resources before choosing the training that is right for you. I am personally partial toward ICF-approved trainings, (particularly Certified Life Coach Institute since I teach for them...that's called transparency. It's part of the ICF code of ethics, btw). ICF-approved c ..read more

KTLA feature: Life Coaching

I am honored to be included as part of a feature story by Kacey Montoya at KTLA in Los Angeles on the field of life coaching. It’s important for us in the field, who honor the client as the authority in their life, to recognize that as an unlicensed field, coaching can get a bad rap (mainly from those who want to give advice or think that they’ll be dime-store therapists - leave therapy to the therapists, please, it’s important work). Coaching is truly not about any of those things. And as with any level of mastering a skill, it takes time and commitment. It’s about serving others and helping ..read more
