Judy the school crossing supervisor from Inverloch, and Julie the school crossing supervisor from Wonthaggi came to visit our kinder room to teach the children about road safety. Safety of the children is paramount to us at Inverloch Childcare and we believe its important that the children apply what they learn in the centre out in the community as well.
The children learned to 'stop, look, listen, think' before crossing a road, to always make sure their bag is zipped up properly so that nothing falls out and to make sure their shoes are done up properly so that they don't trip over.

What is Beach / Bush Kinder?

Every fortnight our Kinder children visit Opal aged care. These excursions help promote a sense of community and is nice for both children and the elderly to interact with people of different ages.
On our visits to opal the children like to sing songs, do cooking experiences and play games, this week we did arts and crafts, with the children giving their wonderful creations to the residents. Re-use, Recycle, Revive, Re-invent, Revamp, Renew and Reduce!
One of the things we aim to achieve on a daily basis with the children is to teach them to be Environmentally responsible. One of the ways we do this is through the reverse art truck.
With the reverse art truck we have the opportunity to gather lots of different recyclable materiel's for the children use and create with. By using these resource materials we hope to educate children and families on the benefits of re-using, recycling and how to reduce.
