The Orange Pub & hotel in Pimlico, London has had a refurb that’s dramatic but sensitive to the building’s history. With four bedrooms and 200 covers the menu has also had an overhaul via Chef Director Ben Tish. Including and featured in the images below Deep Fried Burrata & Truffle Hazelnuts, Aubergine & Orange blossom honey, Grilled Wild Bream & Sicilian Oregano, Roasted Beets, Chicory and sour cherries, Marmonde Tomatoes & Tuscan Kale. Cosy, quirky with a warm inviting atmosphere, next time I will definitely leave room for dessert. Open daily but times vary, find out mor ..read more

Sunday Lunch | 65A Brasserie London

A gloomy winters day in Spitalfields, London but inside 65A Brasserie, it couldn’t have been more of a sanctuary from the weather outside. High ceilings, large windows but warm and inviting with candle lit tables and friendly, efficient service. Londoners scurried by whilst we lingered over Garlic prawns to begin, followed by a different roast dinner for each of us; the turkey special for the season, chicken and beef. The creamy mash (don’t worry there’s roast potatoes too) was a real highlight. It was all so good! Dessert was the flourless chocolate cake which incredibly was the best I’ve eve ..read more

Croatia | Exploring Split & Central Dalmatia

I was invited by Jet2 Holidays to experience their offering to Croatia alongside the Croatian Tourist Board. Did you know flights to Split in Croatia are just a touch over two hours? We flew with Jet2 from Stansted in their Boeing 737 which felt surprisingly roomy with clever space saving designs and spill free coffee cup holders. Even the overhead luggage compartments were spacious and I had no trouble stashing away my camera bag safely. Our trip was organised by Jet2holidays with a four night stay at Hotel Le Meridien Lav. More about the hotel at the end of the post. I was invited along wit ..read more

The Outbuildings | Dorset

Commissioned Work I’ve had the pleasure of photographing The Outbuildings in Dorset several times over the last few years, I went back this June to photograph the revamped Cider & Pressing Rooms and their new Granary which sleeps 6 and has 2 baths & 2 showers. The previous Cart Shed has been completely rebuilt with the Granary taking the top floor and a new bigger, brighter bar and dining space created below. The Outbuildings attention to detail is second to none. Despite being a new build, the Granary, bar and dining area feel like they have been there forever, the materials are caref ..read more

PR Invite JOIA in Battersea is a little bit special, not only for the views of the newly spruced up Battersea Power Station and an alternative angle of the familiar London skyline but the menu is curated by award winning two Michelin-starred Portuguese chef Henrique Sa Pessoa. Inspired by Henrique’s culinary heritage and travels across the Portuguese Iberian Peninsula, the food is rich, authentic and full of flavour with intriguing touches like the chorizo ice cream. Le Shuttle | 24 Hours in France

A few weeks back I had a little adventure crossing the channel by myself and exploring the area of Saint Omer, less than an hour from Calais. Thankfully there was no swimming involved and instead the marvellous Le Shuttle transported me and my car to France in just 35 minutes.  I was traveling with a Flexi-Plus ticket, which means you can arrive and board at your convenience, it also has a 5-day open return so again you can come home when you want. A fabulous perk is you get access to the Flexi-Plus lounge (on both sides of the channel) - think VIP airport lounge where you can breakfast ..read more

Kudu Grill

(I was invited to try the menu at Kudu Grill but all thoughts and words my own) Kudu Grill has made it’s home in the old Truman’s Pub in Peckham, the signage is quite subtle (although the building is black) that we almost missed it and I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when we stepped through the velvet curtains. But inside it’s a cool atmosphere of bare brick, large windows dressed in light seeping venetian blinds, forest green tiles and teal booths - all very inviting and cosy. It’s the latest site from husband and wife time Patrick Williams and Amy Corbin, like it’s sister restaurant Kud ..read more

Hello 2022

I don’t know about you but the Christmas break was very much a return to normality, a normal family Christmas - everyone sat at the same table - a trip to the cinema, albeit masked up when not ploughing through the Butler Sink of popcorn. Even a trip to the theatre to see Circus 1903 - if you’ve been staring at the same few walls for the last two years then this is a visual treat that will pretty much blow your mind and make you feel ALIVE, if not a little lacking in any kind of circus skill. I highly recommend it. I really love New Year, I’m all about the lists, the goals, the things I want ..read more
