Out of habit, this tenant accidentally locked the toddler lock on her way out the door and broke the doorhandle trying to get back in. Is this fixable?

Concerning Yard Signs

As a handyman lots of my work is short lived, I'm in and out of a house often in one day leaving little opportunity for neighbors to see a sign, at that point the magnets on my car are just as good. I also don't like the idea of potentially having to drive back to sites to pick up a sign I left. So how do you guys handle this? What are your practices for putting up signs in front of homes you work at? Do you ask the homeowner upfront for x amount of days you can have a sign in the yard? Do you leave them overnight? For a week? Or should I only use them in high traffic medians and other roadsi ..read more

Wrought iron painting question

I recently started a job where I was asked to repaint about 90 feet of wrought iron fence. I started by going over the whole thing with a wire wheel to remove any existing paint that was flaking off and to scuff up the paint. Then I put primer on all of the prepped rusty and bare metal areas. I’m using a direct-to-metal paint from Sherwin Williams. Once I started painting, more paint started flaking off onto my roller. Looking for magnetic door opener to keep door from fully closing.

I sub in schools and they have magnetic door blocks that keep the door from fully closing so kids can come and go throughout a class period. This stops them from constantly knocking when the door automatically closes and locks on them. They have no name to this piece of metal with a plastic coating. Anyone know where I can get one? Thanks. submitted by /u/PPPEANUT64 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
