A wild gem in a remote corner of the Okavango, Duke’s took me back in time. A carefully curated collection of artefacts all sourced by Ralph Bousfield, a true legend in the safari industry. The story behind the camp was one I loved listening to, Ralph is the ultimate storyteller who completely engaged me and told me stories of his Father, Jack, who was the mind behind Jack’s Camp in the Kalahari (the first of their lodges). Jack was a professional hunter and set up his own makeshift camp using quad bikes at a spot he discovered when hunting in the ’60s—years later becoming the exact spot ..read more

An exceptional lodge on the banks of the Zambezi. Mpala Jena is a feast for the senses. I remember walking into the lodge and feeling a bit shocked…how did this gorgeous beach chic lodge land up here? Where am I? The breathtaking interiors were done by Tracy Kelly Interiors, where every little detail has been looked at and meticulously planned and thought out, leaving you just staring at the beauty that surrounds you. I remember finding it very hard to put the camera down as everywhere I looked was a gorgeous shot. Do yourself a favour and plan a visit to this exceptional place. Only an hour f ..read more

Jackalberry lodge is set in the heart of Thornybush game reserve which is just outside of Hoedspruit, in the greater Kruger. A few things I loved about Jackalberry was the intimacy of the lodge, while still feeling pampered, the constant presence of Nyala and other animal visitors throughout the lodge and the delicious food. The suites look out onto the vast openness of the bush and I had a elephant visitors a number of times on my doorstep, which is really special ..read more

Denis Private island | Seychelles

Denis private island in the Seychelles is a shining jewel in the Indian ocean. I have been there a couple of times now and every time I visit and shoot the island the experience is incredible. Imagine a place, a private island, that is so relaxed yet elegant at the same time. I always feel so at home here but completely and utterly looked after as you would expect on a private island in the Indian ocean. The nature is incredible, everywhere you look, from baby sharks and turtles in the shallows to endangered birds flying above you, it truly is a special place.   ..read more

Mason’s travel is the biggest travel agency in the Seychelles islands. They asked me to be a part of a shoot showcasing what they do using the images for their social media as well as their website and other marketing platforms. I spent time photographing the company, excursions, hotels, general Seychelles attractions and travel logistics. I was super excited to be a part of this one particularly, showing off the islands and the amazing things you can do there with Mason’s. It was fun, beautiful and busy to say the least! Here are some of the shots from the shoot. If you do need an agent in th ..read more

River lodge at Thornybush is one of the most beautiful lodges I have photographed and I enjoyed every minute of shooting here. Huge suites overlooking the river bed which has regular wildlife visitors, are hidden somehow from each other making you feel like you are the only one enjoying the true beauty and solitude of the bush. The decor is right up my alley and every corner has been paid attention to, making it feel like a homely art gallery. The food is on another level and was absolutely delicious. River lodge is a true gem. See for yourself ..read more

Waterbuck lodge in Thornybush reserve just outside Hoedspruit really felt like a home away from home. 8 gorgeous rooms that look out over the riverbed with beautiful homely cooked food and a comforting intimate atmosphere, which I really enjoyed. The lodge is perched above the surrounds giving you the opportunity to see various animals walk by almost underneath you. We were super lucky the evening we were shooting the private dinner out on the deck when 2 elephants decided to join the shoot, much to my excitement! I really think they made the photo ? Have a peek at Waterbuck and let me know wh ..read more
