Le Tousserok is possibly the most perfect place for a family holiday. The bay in which the hotel sits is a calm oasis of crystal clear water perfect for young children. Different dining opportunities offer something for everyone and the fact that children can order from the kids menu at any of these restaurants is truly helpful, especially when you are wanting a spicy Indian night. The food was also out of this world. The hotel has a private island in which there are ferries that cart you to and fro from, offering a beautiful secluded beach and lunch spot. Attention to detail is something they ..read more

Off a small archipelago off the coast of Kenya, lies Lamu island. A quiet, slow and other worldly hidden gem of the African coastline. As soon as you arrive in Lamu a sense of calm overcomes your soul and you instantly feel the spiritual connection of the land. It is filled to the brim with history, from Old town Lamu which shows life as it was, and still is (no cars, only donkeys) and a way of life that is slow and steady, and peaceful. The Majlis is an uber beautiful and luxurious resort opposite the town of Shela and Old town. Amazing Italian (and other) food is served from the most wonderf ..read more

A wild gem in a remote corner of the Okavango, Duke’s took me back in time. A carefully curated collection of artefacts all sourced by Ralph Bousfield, a true legend in the safari industry. The story behind the camp was one I loved listening to, Ralph is the ultimate storyteller who completely engaged me and told me stories of his Father, Jack, who was the mind behind Jack’s Camp in the Kalahari (the first of their lodges). Jack was a professional hunter and set up his own makeshift camp using quad bikes at a spot he discovered when hunting in the ’60s—years later becoming the exact spot ..read more

An exceptional lodge on the banks of the Zambezi. Mpala Jena is a feast for the senses.
