Hello, my dear friends! Hope your new year is off to a good start! Today is another New Year’s Day for the Asian communities across the globe because it is the first day of Lunar New Year, and 2023 is Year of The Rabbit. In Chinese astrology, Rabbit (卯) symbolizes spring / growth, as I am going through a lot of physical changes related to perimenopause, it is the perfect time to adjust perspectives and focus on the most important - quality of life. Instead of making a list of New Year Resolutions, I started this year with intentions, mindfulness of day to day actions that will, hopefully, cont ..read more

Hello, my dear friends! When I wrote the title of this post, I was a bit amazed myself because we just had our second big snow this month, it feels like winter has just begun, now we are talking about spring trends? That, my friend, is how the top fashion insiders play. When we are still trying to find that dream teddy bear coat at 70% off, the style mavens already begin to gather pieces for their spring wardrobe, so they won’t miss an IT item when it becomes too hot to get. Today, we are going to try that mind set, looking into the “crystal ball” and see how we can prepare for the super ..read more

Happy 2022, my dear friends! If you are Asian, you probably know the festival is just beginning for over half of the world’s population celebrates Lunar New Year. In 2022 it will be February 1, that will give us about three weeks to finish up all last’s projects before the biggest holiday arrives. Sounds like a second chance, doesn’t it? I always look forward to Lunar New Year as a switching point that allows me a buffer zone of 30 days to clean up holiday messes as well as set priorities for the rest of the year.
In a previous post, I talked about Lunar New Year traditions and what I found pr ..read more

Hello, my dear friend! In a few days, 2021 is coming to an end! To be honest, this has not been the easiest year for me, I felt challenged on many fronts, work, family, well-being…but the silver lining to all the struggle is, I am forced to let go of some superficial things and really begin to dig inward to connect with my true self. “Priority” was a word I randomly drew from a word maze at the beginning of the year, now it seems like the word was really meant to be. How has your year been? Is it better than 2020? Do you feel you are a better self now than before?
Definitive answers are not wh ..read more

Hello, my friends, how is your summer so far? It’s been consistently over 90F / 35C here in DC with little rainfall for the past week, everything is wilting under high heat including me. It’s hard to get motivate to dress up when it is hot and humid from 9am on, my only rule of dressing is maximum ventilation besides the necessary sun-blocking, which means shorts , hats and sunglasses are my daily essentials.
It makes me super happy that this season, running shorts are trending. I just got this printed pair with matching bucket hat from 24S, love love the sporty design with the su ..read more

Hello, my friend! Have you been enjoying all beautiful weather (and the occasional rain storms) this spring? I’ve noticed that things are looking very green these days, trees, flowers, and my Instagram feed. Bright shades of green and pink are super popular at the moment. It’s largely, IMHO, because people need to feel positive and hopeful after spending over a year in pandemic isolation, and nothing gives a better adrenaline rush than pop art colors. I’ve acquired a few items in bright green and pink, too, but to be very honest, I feel my eyes need a little rest from all the neons.

Hello, my dear friend! First 30 days of 2021 flew by, do you also feel we are still in the low energy zone of 2020? Technically, we are, according to the lunar calendar , still in the year of Geng Zi (Rat) until February 12. Lunar calendar is formed on the movement of the moon and the sun. If you are familiar with Western astrology, then the Lunar calendar is used in very similar ways to help the Chinese determine the timing for important activities.
There are a lot of traditions people follow celebrating lunar new year, some have become obsolete, some still make great sense in today’s world ..read more

Hello, my dear friends! How is your first week of September? A mere three months left for 2020, where did the year go?! Are you going out more for work and leisure? As I am self-employed, I still spend the majority of my time at home, so are my friends who work for the government and other corporations.
When the news came out that we might be staying home for the majority of 2020, people start to go on a vacation mode with style, you might have seen sweats, tie-dye, running shorts, even undergarments dominating your phone screen. The best selling luxury item is not the latest Chanel bag ..read more
