Hey guys so I have a question. I had braces for like 3 years then I got them removed and got a metal retainer. Then me being young and not knowing the consequences, I didn’t wear it them my teeth moved back and my overbite came back. So I went back to my dentist he took a scan and gave me a different type of retainer its invisalign (I hope that’s the correct spelling) So I’m now wearing this plastic retainer. And I totally trust my dentist but I just wanted to know from your experience if its gonna work since I usually see retainers for holding teeth in place after they already aligned i ..read more

I got my bottom braces today and i guess everything was fine, but as i was eating my wire came out from the bottom left,i put it back in but now it's not as tight as the others. This already happened to me once on my top braces,I made an appointment and they just checked it and said it was fine as I put it back correctly, however i didn't check if it was tight that time. I'm worried but has anyone had any experience like this? The wire is fully straight,it's just a bit less tight than the others,do you recommend i book an appointment? submitted by /u/BridgeOne9421 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

My teeth move really quickly and if i don’t wear my retainers ( i have permanent ones as well) then I get visible gaps in my teeth or flaring. I went to my orthodontist to get my wire altered to help with the flaring but I noticed other ones so I just modified it by myself. The flaring went away but I fear I may be doing something wrong submitted by /u/Admirable_Bag7763 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Experience with getting teeth extracted?

Going to have two lower bicuspids extracted soon and I’m curious about the procedure itself. I’ve had four wisdom teeth extracted but was asleep. Due to the price I am opting to be awake when my bicuspids are pulled. Is it super duper painful? Just curious ? submitted by /u/Captain_Failure_ [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Just got my braces removed to find a hole in my back tooth where my brackets were.

Already going to see a regular dentist about this, but I'm wondering if this is normal or happened to anyone else? Had my braces on for 3 years, and the hole was completely covered by my bracket so I couldn't brush it or see that there was a problem. Thankfully no pain but kind ruined a day i was waiting 3 years for :( submitted by /u/KILL-THE-MASTERS [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Infection from my wire

I’ve had braces for a little over a year now- with little to no problems other than constantly breaking brakcets or rubber bands snapping. The ortho is usually good… but last time I realized they didn’t cut my wire short enough and it was too late to go back. Anyway I lasted the 6 weeks with it and it got really painful like I couldn’t open my mouth fully. So anyway the other day I went back for my check in and the orthodontist said my wire was cut not short at all and created a cut/sore in my mouth that became infected from the wire material. Has anyone had this happen? submitted by /u/Pres ..read more
