One of our groups experienced the wonders of the Swiss Alps on our Hiking the Heart of Switzerland adventure in September 2023. Here is a little snippet of their journey. On our first day in Switzerland, we left Lucerne (Luzern), crossed the lake by boat, then rode a cable car to the trailhead of our first hike towards the summit of Mt. Rigi.  Along the way, we stopped at a cheese making spot for lunch and enjoyed a fun presentation on cheese making.  Then we continued hiking to the top, enjoyed the view, and took a cogwheel train back to Lake Lucerne. For several days, we ..read more

Green and rugged, atmospheric and wild: there aren’t enough adjectives to do justice to the Scottish Highlands and Islands. We began our hiking trip, Highlands and Islands of Scotland, on May Day, departing from Inverness, the capital of the Highlands. Although we had our fair share of rain and mist (“grand soft days”), the sun shone brightly for one brief moment on Inverness castle. Our warm-up hike took us to the top of Craigmonie Crag, where we could look out over the famous Loch Ness. Although Nessie was nowhere to be seen in the loch, we had already seen her on the Ness Islands in the mi ..read more

Two years later than planned (due to a bit of a Covid delay), we returned to India to explore the northern region on WT’s Royal Rajasthan adventure. We were fortunate to experience WT’s Treasures of South India trip in early 2020 and were excited to visit other regions in the country.  We began with a pre-trip extension that included exploring the old city of Delhi by rickshaw.  The sights, sounds, and aromas of the tightly packed merchants made a great start to our trip. Fellow travelers Debbie and Arnold explore the alleys of Old Delhi by rickshaw. Agra is full of beautiful and his ..read more
