I recently went to meet a new family searching for babysitting services. Now let me tell you, the family themselves are great, everyone is so kind and their kids seem great. However, their house is super messy. Nothing was picked up and shoved into corners of the house, the couches were stained and had pet hair all over, their children's feet were black because of how dirty the floor was, mud all over the windows, etc. It looked like the place had never been cleaned. Is it unreasonable to not want to babysit for this family because of how dirty their house is? What would the conversation look ..read more

I’m 18 years old and an acquaintance of my mom asked me to babysit her 2 kids (a 7 year old and a 13 year old) for a week. She lives about two hours away so I would have to sleep there for the whole week. The kids, especially the younger one, do a lot of extracurricular activities throughout that week that I’ll be responsible for taking them to. I’ll also be responsible for making their breakfast lunch and dinner and taking care of their 2 dogs while the mom is away, along with doing their homework with them and making sure her place stays tidy. She told me that she was willing to pay 250/day ..read more

I’m a 15 year old trying to start babysitting, and was wondering what apps I could get on. (I’m already on bambino, but I don’t know if it’ll work out because my mom put my name for her account when she was giving consent, so now it looks like I recommended myself) submitted by /u/Slime_boi89 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I live in a high income area and charge $15 an hour to babysit one kid. I have recently raised my rates up to $18 an hour but have not told a certain family I watch yet since I havnt watched the baby since I raised my rates. This is a baby who’s 8months who cries a ton and the parents want me to watch him for a night. He wakes up a lot in the night. I have never watched him overnight and the Mom just asked me to watch him so the parents can “get some sleep”. How much do I charge to watch him over night?? submitted by /u/Big_Truck_7298 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hi! I’m a very new mom, so I have a question and I was wondering if this is normal. I recently hired a part time babysitter. I have a TV job, so she comes to the set and watches my child there. I want to say I still am helping with my baby while I’m working. I make all bottles and change all diapers. Today before she arrived, I received a text asking for $5 more an hour. Which I’m fine to do, but we’re very early on so a raise is kinda questionable, but I’m still fine to do it & I agreed. My question is should I be giving her the bottle/diaper responsibilities? Should I not have agreed to ..read more

Should I get paid for spring break?

Hi everyone, I was told i'd have the week of spring break off, so I went ahead and booked a flight to stay with a friend for a week. Then about a week later they ask me if I can do part-time sitting that week and I had to say no, I made plans. Should I still get paid for that week off? Typically they'll pay me if they take time off, but because after they said that, they asked for part-time sitting, I'm not sure if I should get paid. Thoughts? submitted by /u/proletariatteen [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
