Yall. I’ve tried so hard for way too many years 3 times the Dr prescribed HRT, I’ve done the maca on and off, I’ve done the otc “feminine balancing” creams. The maca and otc creams slow down hair loss and put a little glow and lift in my face and okay my hair is shinier and nicer too. But I can’t. with. the side effects. Kind of a PSA..my larynx has been sore for a few years. Worried I have laringeal cancer level sore. My voice gets weak and sounds like it’s breaking and horse, and it’s tiring and painful to talk. I put off going to a specialist as I was so fearful. I’m trying to decide if I will get more benefit from either estrogen OR progesterone HRT. I’m in a position where I cannot take both. 45F on chemical menopause since a couple years ago due to endometriosis. I have been trying HRT to manage the typical menopause symptoms. And it works well for most of that, BUT unfortunately estradiol aggravates endometriosis, and I end up getting heavy painful periods - basically reversing what the chemical menopause meds is doing. I feel like my husband got ripped off. I started peri right around our wedding and I don’t feel like doing anything. I’m so exhausted all the time and he keeps asking me to do various activities and my answer is always, not today. I’m also burned all the way out post pandemic as I’m in healthcare. 54 year old here. I finally started HRT today after dismissing the idea for probably about 10 years. I, like so many others, believed the hype around the WHI study, so I tried everything else to control my symptoms.
