I previously got LJS + genio in 2018. And then got chin implant + genio in August 2023. The implant got infected so I had the implant removed in Oct 2023. Can I play contact sports now, such as boxing where I get punched in the face? I saw Dr. Eppley in Indiana say 6 months, and though I'm a bit over six months, the amount of surgeries I've had as well as the idea of being punched in the face makes me want to be extra cautious.

My tongue just wants to rest on the back of my upper teeth especially at night in bed laying or sitting
Always have scalloped edges of my tongue, my canines and molars cause the scalloping
I got braces to fix gappy front upper teeth including middle two, overjet of upper teeth and general misalignment due to having braces as a kid and losing the retainer after not long
I did tell my ortho about the tongue issues but he has a way of not clearly answering questions and ignoring them

I got my bottom braces off recently and have found that food gets lodged between the wires and it’s hard to remove even with brushing. I had to use a waterpik to remove the food
Anyway, dentists go on about food getting trapped under gum flaps or between teeth but this is the same issue yet caused by something foreign!
I wonder if i should keep the permanent retainer for the 6 months that they tell you to wear removable retainers full time for (if you have no permanent one in place) and then get it removed and use the removable ones then only at night (as they tell you to do after the 6 month ..read more

Hi! So i had frenectomy 2 months ago. I was not givin massages to do but to pull on my upper lip to prevent it from regrowing. Now its slightly there. Its not affecting my smile, i can smile nice, but will it cause teeth to change? I have braces but I really, REALLY dont want to get another lazer procedure. I hate things in my mouth i cant see. What do I do?? I also go to my ortho for tightening end of May btw

I’ve seen TADs used to close gaps after premolar extractions instead of elastics.
But I was wondering could TADs be used for retraction of all teeth without premolar extractions?
Assuming the removal of the wisdom teeth give enough space, couldn’t all the teeth be retracted using TADs to reduce flaring without the need for pre molar extractions?
Assuming for mild flaring

Why can’t an ortho not just move all of the teeth to one side? There is space on the one side because my back last molars at the back on either side aren’t even one side goes more to one side than the other
The midline is fine (bottom and top teeth line up) but the midline of my teeth is off compared to the centre of my actual face and the frenulums. It’s off by half a tooth i hate it

It’s been a week since I’ve gotten surgery to remove a few teeth for surgery. The extractions & cuts for my teeth don’t hurt, but the top of my gums do. There are 2 deep slits on each side. How long would it take to heal, it’s very painful

My daughter’s braces are scheduled to come off and I just noticed her second molars are very slanted. Is this normal? Will it cause problems later on?

My dad his getting implants because he has major infections in his bone/gums. He needs to go through bone drafting so that he can have enough support for the implants. The dr he is planning to go to said that she can put in the screws (idk if that’s the right term sorry) the same day he will get his teeth removed. Is that possible/safe? I though my dad would need to wait for his bone to be rebuild, which takes time.
