Being an introvert has advantages.  Staying home is my thing after all.  But this is different.  As an Infection Control Nurse I could say a whole lot about COVD-19.  In fact I have already in other platforms and for most my thoughts, opinions, and advice has been welcomed.  There have been a few who have pushed back and a few who threw up all of their defenses, however.  So, i’m trying to back off from social media for a bit.  I’m definitely trying to NOT read comments on facebook.  The stupidity and stubbornness of some is highly annoying. This blog post is not about Coronavirus.  There are ..read more

I have a problem.  I am addicted to subscription services.  The older I get the more I dislike shopping.  Let me re-phrase that:  I detest shopping.  Shopping exhausts me.  Shopping makes me grumpy.  I usually end up with things I don’t need while not finding the stuff I’m looking for. Enter subscription services!  Online shopping on steroids! At the beginning of 2020 I decided to focus on driving down debt and getting a handle on finances.  I ..read more

In the lower right corner is her fountain.  I bought this because Fiona was obsessed with drinking water from a running faucet.  She was spending a lot of time in sinks.  She never drank out of her water bowl, only a faucet or sink.  This fountain does the trick.  She will occasionally drink from a faucet but not obsessively.  She will drink regular ..read more

I had a few ideas for my blog post today but they went out the window, figuratively not literally.  So, instead of abandoning my writing efforts all together I decided to rely on the daily word prompt.  The word for today is capacity, which is perfect. The word capacity can be used in so many ways to describe my day today. I had a plan for today.  A little list on a post it note: -31 order, color street order, bills, blog.  That was it.  Four things then relax and recharge for the rest of the day.  The 31 order did me in.  I hosted a Thirty One Bags party of the last 2 weeks of September, end ..read more

Who Benefits More From Marriage?
Musings of a Menopausal Introvert

A Man or Woman?  Or, in the case of a same sex union what determines whether someone thrives in a marriage? This thought was prompted by observations in real life and in reading our local newspaper.  Often I see anniversary announcements where there is a photo of the couple on their wedding day next to a photo of the couple today.  Almost always the male of the couple is completely recognizable.  His hair may be grayer or whiter and there may be less of it but I can recognize that he is an older version of the guy who married that gal.  But, often the female is unrecognizable.  She is most of ..read more
