In Remembrance of my Father

The very first man to imprint my life was my Dad. Forty-four Father’s Days have come and gone—it seems like a lifetime—yet sometimes it seems like yesterday since I was in my favorite card shop searching for the perfect Father’s Day card for my Dad. I used to buy my cards early when the Father section was overflowing with great options. I looked forward to sorting through the cutesy, gushy, silly, and fluffy ones to find a card that read my heart. Today, I find my eyes wet as I stare at a young girl in the “Father” section. I long to reach for that perfect Daddy card, but instead, I reach for ..read more

For some, the “F” word is a bad word…but “F” that!  In my menopausal world, the really bad words are the “BS” words. Bathing Suit! Summertime usually involves lots of eating, drinking, and fun in the sun! I can’t really procrastinate anymore. It’s time to deal with the BS! I keep my BS tucked away in an orange box (of course, it’s orange, my favorite color). One never knows how this will pan out. The day and time you try on your old bathing suits must be carefully selected.  I suggest trying them on the first thing in the morning before you have even dared to put any fluid ..read more
