Nigel Farage asked why farmers were protesting outside Parliament and the nation replied as one

As you may have seen elsewhere, tractor-driving farmers have descended on parliament to protest at cheap food imports and a lack of support for UK food production. One beef and arable farmer said the government had ‘totally betrayed them’ after promising to deliver a ‘ready-made deal with the EU which would see British agriculture boom’. And Nigel Farage was on hand to report from the scene for GB News. 15 stunned reactions to this GB News claim that Britain was happiest during the War

Martin Daubney‘s finest broadcasting moment on GB News was undoubtedly his disastrous attempt at sharing breaking news. That particular cock-up was at least entertaining, whereas most of Daubney’s unprofessionalism is simply embarrassing. This comment on the recently released World Happiness Report was a huge facepalm moment – and pretty offensive. Martin Daubney discusses the latest happiness index: "If you remember back, Britain was at its happiest – many say – when we were at war. We had a sense of purpose, of national identity." ~AA pic.twitter.com/hd2QBrf11C — Best for Britain (@BestForB ..read more

You don’t have to like Ed Balls to love his magnificent takedown of Daily Mail columnist Quentin Letts

To the studios of ITV’s Good Morning Britain now, where Daily Mail columnist (and much else besides) Quentin Letts was among the guests discussing Rishi Sunak’s Rwanda Bill with presenters Ed Balls and Kate Garraway. And one moment in particular went viral, after Letts insisted on calling former Labour MP Balls ‘Mr Cooper’, because he’s married to shadow Home Secretary Yvette Cooper (geddit?). And it’s fair to say Balls wasn’t taking Lett’s insult lying down, and what happened next was a simply magnificent watch. #gmb Ed Balls putting Quentin Letts back in his box after he calls Balls "Mr Coo ..read more

In case you thought there was only one drama going on in the Royal Family, the Telegraph has just unleashed another of such national importance that we don’t doubt there’ll have to be a COBRA meeting. Yes, that’s right – William is hiring a valet. If anything can knock Catherine off the front pages, it’s that. The resulting mockery was visible from space. 1. The Telegraph said Stephen Colbert didn’t ‘warn’ the Palace about his royal jokes and the whole of America replied as one

As you will probably know by now, the American media has been a little bit more – what’s the best way of putting it? – forthright in their discussion of the on-going Kate Middleton saga. Late Show presenter Stephen Colbert was especially happy to delve into the detail of what may or may not be going on, in clips you might have seen widely shared on social media. That’s not why we’re here – well it is – but we’re mostly here because the good people of the Daily Telegraph weren’t happy about it, they really weren’t happy at all. This incredible World Down Syndrome Day ad challenges perceptions by absolutely kicking ass

The National Coordination of Associations of People with Down Syndrome, known as CoorDown, releases an ad campaign each year to spread awareness of World Down Syndrome Day, which falls on the 21st of March. In 2023, their ‘Ridiculous Excuses Not to be Inclusive’ was an award winner – as well as an eye-opener. Their 2024 campaign has just been released, and it features the wonderful Canadian actress and model Madison Tevlin, who you might know from the Woody Harrelson film, Champions. The ad challenges the culture of having low expectations of people with Down Syndrome, and it’s a gripping 90 ..read more

The Kate Middleton saga sent this hilariously brutal Irish Times take on the monarchy viral again and it’s simply fabulous

The Kate Middleton saga shows no sign of easing up just yet, what with the Americans piling in with their customary delicacy and social media still alive with more theories than you can shake a Sovereign’s Sceptre at. And one unexpected but most welcome consequence was that it sent this Irish Times column on the monarchy viral again and it’s simply fabulous. It’s written by Patrick Freyne, ostensibly about Harry and Meghan, but it’s never felt more relevant. Reminded of that great piece in The Irish Times about the monarchy and the British Royal Family, in particular these three paragraphs pi ..read more

27 favourite things people are saying about the Kate Middleton saga right now

It’s only two days since Kensington Palace put out that photo of Kate Middleton in an effort to put all that online speculation to bed (A for effort, F for FFS) and barely 24 hours since the Princess of Wales outed herself as a secret photoshop fanatic. But in terms of social media it already feels like a lifetime ago. So it was naturally high time to catch up with exactly who’s saying what about the right royal mess – and these 27 people surely say it best. 1.
