I have been on Prozac for 10 plus years after my first suicide attempt. I was diagnosed with depression disorder and anxiety disorder. Last April I attempted suicide and was rushed to the hospital. I was then placed in a facility that was basically a jail. I spent a whole 10 minutes with a Dr in the 3 days I was there. He just continued my meds sent me home. Started seeing a new psychiatrist as a result of the suicide attempt. She just kept me on the same meds and only saw me via Telehealth. After a year of feeling up and down. Screaming at my wife one second then loving on her the next. A ye ..read more

a little back story .. i have had about four psychiatrists in the past year (some of which were recommended by my therapist) and they all have been horrible. none of them listened or even tried to help me, one of them ghosted me, they keep trying to pump me with meds (i was on about 7 different medications at one time before). but my most recent one .. i told her how i needed a psychiatrist who listened and how my main issue is the bipolar disorder and my crippling anxiety. she prescribes me caplyta, which, after much research, only really helps with the depression side of bipolar and has led ..read more

This illness has knocked me on my ass year after year to the point where I’ve become very lazy. I’ve resorted to canned goods, the rice cooker, frozen pizzas, stuff like that. Looking for easy, healthy, affordable, tasty cooking options. Am on disability and not too motivated. submitted by /u/Hot-Report2971 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I have a feeling that I might be bipolar, but because of lack of resources I have never been able to get help for my mental health. My parents are a non existent support system in regards to my mental health. I’ve been dealing with depression and anxiety since I was a literal kid. The bad episodes began in high school. The worst one was the summer before senior year. I was unable to get an out of bed or out of the house for almost four months. When school started I didn’t sleep and I 100% would have flunked out if it wasn’t for COVID. I’m in my early 20’s and it’s just been getting progressiv ..read more

So l've been on lamictal for a year now and noticed a pattern. 5 months ago my lamictal seemed to stop working so l upped the dose. I was experiencing high levels of stress pre dose update. Waking up with a super dry face (it happens when l'm stressed) general sense of misery I have no way no explain it. It's like it suddenly stops working and you go into this dark place after 6 months or so. So I lowered my dose again and have been doing okay for months but the past month these symptoms are back and I'm barely functioning. I went from 200mg to 150mg twice daily. I have no idea how to explain ..read more

I (29 ftm) am more comfortable with female doctors, though I identify as a man, due to me being sexually assaulted years ago. My current doctor originally offered a referral and I decided to take it. I found a doctor that’s outside of the clinic’s practice because they don’t have any female doctors there. I’m waiting for a call back and I’m super anxious. How do I calm myself down? I feel like I’m going to have a panic attack just sitting here waiting. I want to die and I don’t know how much longer I can hang on, but my partner, my family, my friends, and my dogs are keeping here by a thread ..read more
