The Maharashtra government on Tuesday announced its new Maharashtra EV Policy 2021 to accelerate adoption of electric vehicles and help in developing the charging infrastructure in the state of Maharashtra. As per a the notification issued on 11th June 2021, the Department of Heavy Industries (DHI) has announced increase in the electric two-wheelers subsidy in India. The announcement came in form of partial modification of the Scheme for Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles in India Phase II (FAME India Phase II). As per the notification, the incentive for electric two-wheelers has been increased to ₹15,000 per kWh, up by ₹5,000 per kWh from the earlier subsidy rate.
