Fabulous night at the icap annual charity ball at One Great George Street. Photograher Maria V Kaz captured some great reactions of the guests’ first sight of their silhouettes cut live and free hand by me in a matter of minutes. I was even mentioned on stage by the compare! I had the pleasure of working for one night only at the Palazzo Colonna, the oldest palace in Rome, alongside Sabrina Ronchi, the only silhouette artist in the whole of Italy! It was the first time we had worked together and we got on so well, I’m sure there is bound to be a next time after this! What a venue, what a night! Live piano music by the masterful Okiem. When I was 18 I was just practicing silhouette cutting on friends and family. I took a stall at a local fair for a day selling silhouettes to the public just to get a wider range of practice in and see the public reaction to my craft. A lady there, Emma, was taken by my talent and asked if I would come cut them at her friend’s wedding. So that was the first silhouette cutting gig I ever did. 20 years later and Emma calls me to ask me to come cut silhouettes again only this time it’s for her wedding!
