Happy Holidays Barbie 2006 Bob Mackie
The One Sixth Scale Dollhouse

Bob Mackie Happy Holidays Barbie 2006 arrived yesterday and though the box was in a little rough shape the doll had never been deboxed and she is really lovely. I got her for $11plus shipping on Mercari so I grabbed her. I ended up paying a total of $27 which is less than what I would have paid on Ebay or Poshmark. Shipping was a little high but I think I still got a deal on this doll. Some of the Bob Mackie dolls go a little insane on their pricing. Her eye shadow is gold glitter and that headdress reminds me a little of a Russian style design. This is one of my favorites ..read more

Va. Fashion Doll Club April Meeting- Sheri Dolls and OOAK Dolls
The One Sixth Scale Dollhouse
by

My doll club, the VA Fashion Doll club, has its April meeting, and the focus was on Sheri Brown Dolls , an artist who creates OOAK dolls using patterns with crocheted designs for Barbie. Her designs are often historical, and she stays within the eras of the 1600's to the 1920's and draws inspiration from movies, television, books and photos of costumes of the different periods. Many of her remarkable crocheted costumes are done in a combination of tatting and crochet of her own patterns. She taught herself to crochet from books and a friend. Though I own only one of her dolls ..read more

1991 Happy Holidays Barbie
The One Sixth Scale Dollhouse

She finally arrived! a few days ago that is. I purchased her off of Mercari from an offer made by the seller. To keep the shipping cost down, they use UPS Sure Post, which is slow. Slow ....It took over a week and a half for the doll to get here. Not complaining of the cost...but geez. Next time put it on a pack mule, it might get it here quicker. lol!  I am always amazed at the packaging on these dolls that are almost thirty plus years old and how well the packaging is on them. This particular one when I deboxed her had cardboard underneath her skirt to hold it out, so I left it on there ..read more

The Cutie Reveal series of dolls by Mattel has recently begun a series of Chelsea dolls in the animal series and in this 'Cozy Cute Tee" Series They feature a Lamb, a Pink Bear, a Purple Poodle, and a what appears to be a dog with pink mane? Each doll comes with a pet, pair of shoes, and a skirt as they have a painted on swimsuit and painted/ colored legs for tights. The Lamb Chelsea is a caucasian doll with blonde hair and is very cute. She was on sale for $11 and I was also looking for the Poodle, who is an African-American doll, but I think they had sold out. These normally retail for about ..read more

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!  I am a little late as we spent most of yesterday having friends and family over for dinner and entertaining yesterday, and it was a lot of work, but fun. We had a huge turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, salad, bread, fruit, deviled eggs, and chocolate cupcakes with vanilla ice cream. It was delicious since we were all ill at Christmas and couldn't get together then and so celebrating at Easter was the answer for us all.  Here are some of the photos of our Easter table and our Easter egg tree that we do every year, in ..read more

1998 Happy Holidays Barbie
The One Sixth Scale Dollhouse

1998 Happy Holidays was purchased in the same bundle lot as   1999 Millineum Princess Barbie off of Mecari platform and she is so lovely. I think the 1990s were the last era of the fabulous detailing on the gowns, as this doll has an elegant black velvet gown with miniature silver detailing and tassels, a pink fuschia satin stole, and matching headpiece. Her gown is lined with tulle to stiffen the gown and hold it out, which many of the new dolls do not do, they just put tissue paper in there. Also, the box art on this doll was beautiful, silver and pink and I was able to save the ph ..read more

Happy St. Patrick's Day! It is 2 days early, but I am posting these pics early as I will have more photos of various dolls on St. Patrick's day on Sunday. I did this shoot and I wanted the pics to stand alone. It was an off-the-cuff kind of thing I put together, and was rather pleased with it- as it is unusual for me to be able to pull all of my props together at one time without having to pull my doll room apart! lol! The chair and table; Bespaq, the rug, a dollhouse miniature carpet; the tea set, is a 1:12 scale dollhouse miniature teaset that I won at my doll club meetin ..read more
