I have been on a big shirtdress kick lately! I truly can’t think of a more versatile silhouette. It’s something that works for my body in my postpartum era and is also breastfeeding friendly. I’m all about easy to throw on dresses, and the best part of a shirtdress is that it looks like you’re pulled together but with minimal effort! Who here remembers my college graduation campaign with Kate Spade? It feels like a lifetime ago, and in a way, it was! I’d still wear that dress today though. I can hardly think of anything more classic to wear than a little white dress, and this time of year, there seems to be endless options for graduation and wedding season. I ended up getting a little carried away with this roundup of cute white dresses…. Make sure to scroll down for a lot more of them…. WEEK OF OUTFITS 4.16.24

Had such a good week with the boys– especially this weekend. Getting out with both boys by myself was a major goal of mine and I have to say, I’m so glad I was on top of this fear from the beginning. I’m sitting down now to type this and realizing that I don’t even think twice about getting out and about with both. Mike was out of town for the weekend so the boys and I had ourselves a time! We went out to breakfast, played at the park, went to a train exhibit at a local museum. On Sunday, I took them to the gym with me (Rory’s first time!) so I could get a little workout– and quiet time for my ..read more

KEEPING MOTHERHOOD SIMPLE

I realized I never shared these photos on here and it ended up being the perfect timing to post them, because there’s a relevant story behind them. One of the best parts about being a mom is getting to create all the fun magic for my kids. I love it. But…. I also think it’s gone a little too far. I hate to bring the energy of ~social media ruined it~ however i do think that’s the case here. The bar for “childhood magic” just keeps going higher and higher. You can’t just take your kids on a vacation, if you want real magic you need to pack a suitcase for them, wake them up and tell th ..read more

Is it just me or has J.Crew Factory been killing it recently? They’ve had a ton of super inexpensive winners like this scalloped active skort and so many more I linked below. It inspired me to look through a few of my other go-to affordable clothing brands too, leading to this pretty sizable roundup of affordable fashion under $50. Just in time for a spring and summer wardrobe refresh! Affordable Fashion Under $50 Striped Tank // including a blue and white stripe and a pretty green apple-looking color! If this version is too cropped for you, there’s a very similar one from a different retailer ..read more

Words can’t describe how crazy it feels that it’s already time for another week of outfits. Time is flying. We had a great week last week, too. I hosted an event, we had a great family dinner in town, my in-laws had us over for pancakes this weekend. Oh and we had an earthquake and a 90% eclipse. What a time to be alive. LAST WEEK’S WIN: I hosted a needlepoint class with Penny Linn this weekend in my office space. It was such a dream to be able to host an event like this. I love sharing needlepoint with everyone. It makes me so happy when someone else falls in love with it. THIS ..read more

THE BOW TREND

The bow trend continues to have momentum and I am here for it. One of my first memories involves bows, and they’ve been a mainstay in my wardrobe since high school. Every single day, you all email and DM me bow things– it’s so much fun, and honestly, really interesting to see how different brands interpret them. Not all bows are created equally, you know? Some pieces take on an overly feminine style that I think ends up leaning juvenile or excessive. Still, I’m thrilled everyone is loving the bow trend as much as I do! When I think of dresses, the absolute number one “must have” in my opinion is a good shirtdress. It’s a wardrobe staple and something that is just nice to have tucked in your closet. I’m all about easy to throw on dresses and the best part of a shirtdress is that it looks like you’re pulled together but with minimal effort. Truly can’t think of a more versatile silhouette! When I saw this silhouette from J. Crew, I knew it was going to be the perfect addition to my wardrobe, especially in my postpartum era.
