CBS has officially ordered a new daytime soap titled The Gates. The drama series follows the lives of a wealthy Black family in a posh, gated community and will launch January 2025. The specific time period, launch date and other series details will be announced at later dates. Paramount+ has renewed Star Trek: Strange New Worlds for a fourth season. The renewal comes ahead of the third season. The series is based on the years Captain Christopher Pike manned the helm of the U.S.S. Enterprise. The series follows Captain Pike, Science Officer Spock, Number One and the crew of the U.S.S. CBS has renewed S.W.A.T. for an eighth season. The news comes as a surprise as season seven was previously billed as the final season, following the initial cancellation after season six.
