Radukar the Wolf is the Vampire Lord who rules the city of Ulfenkarn, and, presumably the ultimate nemesis in Warhammer Quest: Cursed City (I haven't read through the rules or campaign books yet!?). The Kosargi Nightguard are his undead Ogor bodyguards... Radukar the Wolf and Kosargi Nightguard These have been haunting the edges of my workbench for nearly three years now, since I bought the game! I did a bit her and a bit there on them from time to time, but recently they were looking close enough to just finish off with a concentrated session of working on them!  Yes, they're not a ..read more

This is the Miniature of the Month from Games Workshop for April 2024! I have no idea why I painted it up before ALL THE OTHER THINGS!? I guess it was something different and relatively easy to do!  Deathwing Knight  I don't really know anything about Deathwing Knights... I guess they are terminators of the elite First Company of the Dark Angels Space Marine Chapter (which is referred to as the Deathwing)? It seems crazy that they were giving these away! The minatures are usually in a box set of five (plus a teleport homer and... some other little marker minaitures) for $85CAD!? it ..read more

Another Sunday happened and that means Warhammer Underworlds at my place! (except that it won't this coming Sunday.. for.. REASONS!)  As with last week, we played the first game in Shadespire - mostly because I wanted to use my fancy new Soul Refractors! I was playing Skabbik's Plaguepack. Orion brought out the Chosen Axes (with a Void-Cursed Thralls nemesis deck). Amanda played Elathain's Soulraid. Nick played Da Kunnin' Krew.  Orion started off with attacking the Orruks and then got ganged up on.  Despite losing one of my minions in the first round, the skaven were pretty ..read more

This past Saturday I picked up the latest Warhammer Underworlds core box - WINTERMAW! Warhammer Underworld: Wintermaw All the core boxes!  Currently the first box from each setting holds the counters from that setting (Shadespire, Beastgrave, Harrowdeep, Gnarlwood, Deathgorge). The second box hold all the boards from the setting (Nightvault, Direchasm, Nethermaze, Wyrdhollow, Wintermaw). I could probably consolodate these bits into fewer boxes... but I kind of like the look of all of them!  (I also picked up the first Two-Player Starter a few years back, but I threw that box ..read more

Warhammer Underworlds: Soul Refractors (Terrain)

I took a bread from the Warhammer Underworlds warbands last night to finish up three little scatter terrain bits from the Nightvault era These are Soul Refractors. They show up on two boards... The Soul Refractor board (from the Nightvault core box) (and the Shattered Refractor from the Forbidden Chambers board set, which I don't have!)  The Soul Refractor Board with terrain pieces.  These could easily be used as scatter terrain for loads of fantasy settings. They'd be perfect for Frostgrave!  I do really like these little terrain bits to mark blocked hexes. I think I'd ..read more

No new miniatures purchased in the last week.. though I did go pick up the FREE Miniature of the Month from the Warhammer store, and I will be picking up Warhammer Underworlds: Wintermaw on Saturday!! Here's what I'm working on...  (sorry all the pics turned out terrible... but I had neither the time nor inclination to reshoot them all or spend too much more time tinkering with editing them... they're just work in progress shots... you get the idea. I'll take better pics when they're done...)  I'd thought the first of the new warbands to be painted would be Zondara's, for sure ..read more

Once again Orion and Nick joined us for a couple of games of Warhammer Underworlds on the first Sunday in April. We started off with a game set in Shadespire (only using boards from Shadespire/Nightvault)  I wanted to try out the freshly painted Sons of Velmorn with their own Rivals Deck and selected Katophrane's Reliquary board. Amanda wanted to keep playing Elathain's Soulraid, still just using their own Rivals Deck and took The Cursed Oubliette board). Nic was playing Grashrack's Despoilers with a Nemesis deck using Break Neck Slaughter on The Ruptured Seal. Orion ..read more

Another Week, Another Warband... (Although, I'm not sure I finished one last week, technically... but one of these weeks I'm sure to finish up two, as i'm working on a few simultaneously at any given moment)  The Sons of Velmorn (Well, it's actually Velmorn and his sons... ) King Morlak Velmorn Sir Jedrean Falseborn (Velmorn's illegitimate son and bodyguard) Marshal Faulk Velmorn (The Eldest of Velmorn's sons, heir to the throne and commander of the armies)  Thain, Fourth-and-Last (the Youngest of Velmorn's Sons)  Helmar the Hewer I think these look really cool. I li ..read more

Warhammer Underworlds: Last Game in March!

Yesterday, the last Sunday in March, Nic and Orion came over to play some more Warhammer Underworlds.  In our first game I rolled out with my new Skabbik's Plague Pack. They had not done well in their first game against Amanda playing Elathain's Soulraid.  Amanda was playing Elathain's Soulraid again, Nic played Cyreni's Razors, and Orion was playing the Crimson Court.  Cyreni's starrted off the bullying of the rats by charging in with THE SQUID and killing poor Poxlix...  Vellas charged in to attack Tammael.  And quicly found herself surrounded by Elath ..read more

It's Wednesday! Here is what I'm working on this week!  Did I finish a warband last week...? No, I don't think I did! The last one was Skabbik's and that was over a week ago!? Ah, well... I finished painting SIX in March, so... I think I'm going to do okay keeping up with the warband a week - when averaged over the year (or quarter?).  I am STILL working on the Sons of Velmorn, and that's probably the closest to getting done. My hope is to finish this one up this week and get cracking on some NEW ONES.  (Domitan's Stormcoven is also VERY close to being done... but I haven ..read more
