I've only used acryllic so far (marvel - spotlight) but have heard cotton is better for amigurumi. I have had a look at spotlight cotton yarns but find the colour options are limited. I also prefer working with a chunkier yarn - either 8 or 10 ply and couldnt see a chucky cotton yarn at spotlight.
