Fire Country Round Table: Are the Storylines Getting a Little Too Soapy In Season 2?
TV Fanatic
by Tyler Johnson

At its best, Fire Country is one of the most thrilling dramas on network television. Borrowing the best elements from the procedural and nighttime soap genres, the show's first season took a risky premise. It developed it into a bonafide hit with writing a notch above the standard primetime fare. The secret was relatable characters whose interpersonal drama helped to offset the wackiness of some of the more outlandish action storylines. Is the show sacrificing the believability of its first season by featuring implausible emergency scenarios? Did the writers paint themselves into a corner w ..read more

CSI: Las Vegas: Has the Show Been Teasing the Josh-Allie Relationship For Too Long?
TV Fanatic
by Laura Nowak

It seems like every procedural show has a slow-burn pairing. CSI teased Gil Grissom and Sara Sidle for seven seasons before they officially started dating. Josh Folsom (Matt Lauria) and Allie Rajan (Mandeep Dhillon) have danced around their relationship for three seasons. Has the endless teasing of their romance become too much, or do you enjoy Josh and Allie's relationship? If someone had asked that question in CSI: Vegas Season 2, I would have responded that the love triangle with Serena was a horrible look, along with teasing their relationship. However, the two of them now stand a chance a ..read more

TV Fanatic
by Whitney Evans

As if Hen Wilson would sit by idly while her people were in trouble. Hen knew she was on to something when she went to Maddie during 9-1-1 Season 7 Episode 2, and even though Chief Simpson told her to drop her concerns and get back to work, to know Hen is to know that was never going to happen. In this exclusive clip TV Fanatic was lucky enough to get, we’ll see what Hen’s next move will be on 9-1-1 Season 7 Episode 3. Hint: it looks to involve some sneaking around. Hen is always very steadfast in her convictions, and once she latched on to her suspicions about the cruise ship, she was goin ..read more

Chicago PD Season 11 Episode 8 Review: On Paper
TV Fanatic
by Jasmine Blu

Jo Petrovic is a mirror for Hailey. The final scene of Chicago PD Season 11 Episode 8 was the equivalent of the Spiderman Meme. It's amazing how often one can come face-to-face with another person who sees through the demons. Jo is a relatively interesting character for the series to introduce, and it seemed as if she came out of nowhere. It was difficult to get a real feel for her, too. While she didn't have as much presence during the harrowing Chicago PD Season 11 Episode 7, we got to know her better this time. And it was with a case that also fell into her purview better. They also u ..read more

Resident Alien Season 3 Episode 7 Review: Here Comes My Baby
TV Fanatic

Love changes a person, and on Resident Alien Season 3 Episode 7, Harry comes to that realization after dealing with his breakup. Nobody should be robbed of the experience, no matter how difficult it is to handle. Let's just thank goodness that most of us don't have to go on a killing spree for our hearts to grow three sizes. Lovelorn Harry was growing old fast, so I'm thankful he found more love to fill his broken heart. But until he learned what it was like to have his heart smashed to bits, he was incapable of putting others before himself. "Here Comes My Baby" was another installment ..read more

Chicago Fire Season 12 Episode 8 Review: All the Dark
TV Fanatic
by Carissa Pavlica

Well, I'm just going to say it. This season? Not the best. Chicago Fire Season 12 Episode 8 was not an improvement over the previous, only making the longer-term story more aggravating and uncertain. There is good news, of course, and it does make you want to pop the champagne. Lennox is gone. Ding dong, the dingdong is gone. The guy was, sorry to say, an idiot. He got swept up with a powerful character in the CFD who offered him who knows what without paying any regard to his own future. And if the guy wasn't already 100% annoying, he spent the episode contradicting himself. I'm hoping ..read more

Chicago Med Season 9 Episode 8 Review: A Penny for Your Thoughts, Dollar for Your Dreams
TV Fanatic
by Jack Ori

Was this Easter or Halloween? Chicago Med Season 9 Episode 8 featured several strange or scary events, including one that could get Zola fired.  The stories were so strange that it felt like they had originally been intended for Halloween and had been reworked for Easter. Some of the twists were predictable, yet the entire episode was bizarre. The most rational story was Pawel's usual nonsense. Pawel is almost always annoying, but his attempt to get pain meds or money felt more like the hospital show tropes we're used to than most of the other plots. Pawel is always up to no good and h ..read more

TV Fanatic
by Carissa Pavlica

The Jinx is back! The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst was a groundbreaking true-crime limited series that had a significant impact on the genre and television as a whole. Durst's story captivated the nation from the start, but when he muttered the words, "Killed them all, of course," it upended the future of true crime. Robert Durst was convicted as a result of the groundbreaking docuseries, but he died before being tried for another connected case that, as a result, remains unsolved. The Jinx raised the bar in terms of production quality for true crime series with its cinematic s ..read more
