(Victoria, BC – October 8, 2023) — In 2002, three-time Olympian Jon Brown set the Royal Victoria Half Marathon course record at one hour, two minutes and 32 seconds. It had stood for 21 years. Sunday, Cameron Levins from Black Creek, BC (now living in Portland, OR), ran 1:01:18, exactly one-minute off of his Canadian record. (Victoria, BC – October 10, 2021) Sunny but cool and windy weather greeted over 4,000 participants in today’s Royal Victoria Half Marathon and 8K, the first in-person road race that Victoria has seen for over 18 months. Mathew Travaglini and Leanne Klassen won the Half Marathon and Reid Muller and Sarah Inglis won the 8K, with Inglis setting a new course record for the second year in a row.
