On the back of last week’s Cora Top release, here’s a little blog post showing how Silva added this simple & impactful hand stitched detail to hers. After the original stitching (in matching thread) was machine sewn around the pockets and centre front seams, she used a silver grey topstitch thread to hand sew along every second stitch. In these photos, Silva is wearing her Cora Top with our Robbie Pants, both made in Bedford Pine Washed Linen (you can view all the other beautiful Bedford colours in our online fabric store). We’ve previously shown this stitching feature in two other blo ..read more

Introducing our latest pattern, the Cora Top! We describe Cora as a sweet and simple style that’s been designed as a truly classic piece with the word ‘easy’ in mind – easy to sew, easy to wear, easy to pair and easy to style. An exposed binding finishes the hem, neckline and short, grown on sleeves. Pull-on and hip length,  it’s a complete winner with skirts, pants, jeans and shorts. The simplicity of the style is elevated with subtle details such as a curved hem that sits slightly longer at the back. Then there’s the very practical and unexpected addition of stitched down in ..read more

Not sure what made me want to make a yellow pair of jeans. Pinterest possibly, Instagram probably, harmoniously combined with a deep affection for this bright but not too bright Mirren Honey Denim. And once the idea had settled, that was it. I promptly did some jeans pattern hunting/research/stalking and settled on the Helene Selvedge Jeans by Anna Allen Clothing. Also a fair endorsement were the 1600+ outstanding makes, shares, feedback and reviews on Instagram. Love (and appreciate!) that! The pattern is for non stretch denim and comes with four style options  – wide (m ..read more

In our early blogging days, we were partial to posting something we called ‘Fabric Feature of the Week’. Not sure why we stopped doing that but it was most likely the (over) commitment to a weekly blog post. Maybe we should consider re-introducing it (should we?) because there’ll always be fabrics we love to share. Here’s one. Two actually. This 89% polyester 11% polyurethane is a two-way stretch woven we call Reformed and it comes in both Black and a dark French Navy. It’s got a gorgeous drape and we’d best describe it as a smooth crepe. Sourced from a local designer, we started ..read more
