So I'm plugging away and my monitor beeps and says "No GPS currently available." About a minute later, my brother calls. He's running the 2nd planter a few miles away and his GPS went to hell at the same time. Turning things off and on ain't done anything so we're thinking it's a satellite issue submitted by /u/sharpshooter999 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Black and white bales

Hello. I live on a farm, and we focus mainly on making silage to sell/feed our sheep. We were talking about bale wrapping during dinner, and someone brought up the color of the bales. What are the differences between for example the black and the white ones? Currently we use white plastic, but we've seen black, green, blue, and pink bales a lot. Now, obviously, black bales absorb the heat, while the white bales reflects it. What are the ups/downs about using the different plastic colors? submitted by /u/Squawker_Boi [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I sell beef and pork direct to consumer from my farm. I’m starting to get into shipping but finding Priority Mail from the postal service just isn’t reliable but PM Express is generally too expensive to turn a profit. Also trialing different insulation but that also quickly eats into your margins. Any farms on here that have figured out cost efficient frozen shipping? submitted by /u/stevethescubadiver [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hello All, Looking to upgrade/supplement my current mower/conditoner I currently run an IH900 mower conditioner on a Kubota M7060 (65 hp PTO) , not sure the exact age but assuming it is from the early 70s. I cut about 50 acres, half of that I small square myself and the other half I have someone come in and large square it. My main issue is that the time it takes for me to cut for the 25 or so acres forlarge square is usually a full day and the next morning or so which I would like to get done faster. Looking to either find a smaller discbine or upgrade the haybine With that being said I have ..read more

This is oddly specific. CT USA startup farming operation. 2 acres of vegetable farming just turned into 2 acres of vegetable with the opportunity of 5 additional acres of an established hop plant farm. I need to incorporate like in the next couple days. I had made this logo for my business plan, but it was a ... Uh ... Working title. Plays off of my last name and the whole catalyst for changing careers with the eclipse totality. But who cares about any of that except me lol. I was probably more excited to use my blurry totality photo than anything. Not sure what would be a good name. Old ..read more
