<p>We scraped a lot of sports database sites to download <em>all</em> the team rosters we could get. The data includes where players are born so we made these charts showing where players in each league were coming from each year.</p>

<p>All I contributed to this page was to write a script that takes satellite images, croppes them to a defined viewport, overlays map labels, state borders and the timestamp and converts everything into a video.</p> <p>This allowed us to update the video more often than we would’ve been able to do in a manual process.</p>

<p>The only thing I contributed here was an early UI design prototype that introduced the idea of dragging the characters into the chart. I really wish I’d been working more on this, but I think it fell on my summer vacation.</p>
